This excellent addition to the Roto Grip arsenal features the same Concave Radius High Torque(tm) weight block as found in the original Assault. Concaving one side of the weight block creates a dynamic counterbalance providing constant motion for STRONG Hook & Roll characteristics.
Encasing the weight block is a new PEARLIZED Sure Grip Traction Plus(tm) cover with increased particle loading providing improved length and STRONG backend for medium to heavy oil conditions. The pearlized Traction Plus cover is easily adjusted with the use of pads, sandpaper, and polishes.

I had the ball drilled to go very long and break late. My style is a tweener. Med-High speed and Med-High Revs. My house has lots of oil out to the five board with good backends.

I am using the ball in the out-of-box condition.

This ball hits like a truck and carries everything. This is a great ball and the reaction is consistent. 9 of 10.

My house is synthetic with oil out to 38' and buffed to 40. I drilled this one using a 4x4 with the pin above and to the right of my ring finger. The CG is kick ed out a little. A weight hole was placed on my pap. This ball revs up very fast but still goes long and retains a lot of energy for the HIT. The movement is not a skid/flip but more like a continuous arching drive into the pocket. This is one of the hardest hitting balls that I have and believe me I have most of them.

After the Defcon series and the SD-73 line I didn't know what to expect. This ball was a definite "WOW". It cornered strong both smooth. Unlike some previous Roto-Grip releases this ball did hook. They are definitely on the right path. Very rare to find a pearlized ball that was so arcing and strong. I gave the ball a 5 X 4 1/2 layout with a 27/32 weight hole 2 inches deep. By swinging the cg slightly out it put the mass bias about 2 inches from vertical axis line. Any pin distance between 4 1/2 to 5 from my pap is a fairly strong layout for me. Would recommend this ball for anyone with a medium to strong release.

Got this ball shortly after getting my Trauma thinking I could go to it the third game.Wrong wrong this ball is stronger than the Trauma even though BTM rates it two boards less hook(19 on Trauma and 17 on Pearl)I come out of the ball at 90 degrees therefore creating all side roll.This ball for me is two boards stronger than my Trauma and handles carry down better.This is an awesome ball with a tremendous backend.It is also much cheaper than the Trauma.Hope this helps.It is drilled 4 x 3.

STORM, Dynothane, and ROTO GRIP --

Names synonymous with great bowling equipment..

The Pearl Assault is no exception.

Layout - Pin at 12 o'clock 2" above fingers, MB 1" right of centerline
Before Drill - T Wt = 3 1/2oz Pin = 4 1/2"
Lane Condition - 38ft crown w/ dry backends, 2nd shift of league

The longest particle ball I've ever seen with tremendous backend.
The flare is incredible even w/ a straight up layout.
Of course the differential is .075 and because of that, I really
couldn't kick the MB out much with that much top wt, and no way I could
punch a hole to keep it legal and keep the flare from hitting the wt.

Simply stated this ball is a MONSTER. On fresh backends this ball will probably be too much; you will need some carrydown for control. Good length through the heads, nice midlane roll, and a sharp, hard driving turn to the pocket. This ball reminds me of the Ebonite High Torque but much stronger. Excellent choice for all medium oil conditions.

I received this ball from my coach and just opened up a finger hole or three. This ball is drilled 4 1/2 x 4, mass bias in the strong position right next to thumb with a weight hole left of the pap.

This ball is absolutley beautiful. By far the best pearlized ball I've ever thrown (even better than the Triton Heat!). This ball recovers nice from the outside and will have hold when tugged. This ball flares real well too. Great ball for house conditions and possibly better on tougher shots (not available information at the time). The one thing I've discovered with this ball is that the deeper you move in, the bigger the hit (I've never experienced that in the house I bowl in either). This ball could possibly replace my Arc! It just keeps on hooking. At first I thought that it wasn't supposed to hook that much, wrong I was.

The only thing I don't like about it is that sometimes this ball hits way too hard and sends pins flying and messengers pass the corner pins way too fast so that the "tornado effect" will make it still stand.......darn.

Overall....Great ball from Roto-Grip. Maybe I'll get a Global Assault to see if the Assault line would be as consistent.

Seems like everyone likes this ball but me. I am not impressed with the Assault Pearl at all. Too much ball for dry lanes and not enough on medium or oily. Maybe, I drilled it wrong or something. I did label the ball expecting it to go long and hit hard and it did not. When I threw it the ball never turned in it just stay straight up. Then I sanded it, forget it, not much more. So, please take my advice purchase something else. Like a Storm Deuce II. Thanks.

I drilled this ball with a 5" pin. I had to put in an x-hole to bring it down to 1/2 side. The extra hole was place 1" before the PAP. I sanded it with 1000 and in the Lustre King for 5 minutes. I have to admit, this ball rolls absolutely OUTSTANDING!

I can't wait to try this ball on some of the patterns at the regionals. I drilled this ball with patterns A, B & d in mind.

Drilled with Pin above fingers, CG 1" left of center and Mass Bias to the left of the thumb (I am a righty). The ball is basically laid out negative weight for drier conditions with burnt backends and this ball is awesome. Very predictable, nice reaction and hits decent. With this layout if there isn't alot of backend the ball backs off and leaves weak 10's. When the condition is right (what I drilled it for) it can't be beat. I would recommend this ball for medium dry conditions.
