The layout is a 5x3 pin above fingers, my favorite drill pattern .This ball has really helped me out in tournament play unlike any other ball in my arsenol. In this new age of bowling where the way that tournaments are making shots harder to score on is by applying longer and heavier oil the Rogue helps to combat these conditions. Incredible ball. This ball rolls SO strong. Clears the heads great, fantastic mid-lane read, and strong backend. This ball will clear the pins off the deck on any pocket hit, flush, high-flush, or light-flush. Throw the big wheel, and it will turn the corner or, take your hand out of it and play up the boards, you will be impressed, and so will your opponent. 8 games old, and I already have a 206 211 200 253 game on it.

Had two drilled up for Nationals, Love them both. first one started out as a 4 inch pin, kept the pin below the fingers and a small kick pitched at the thumb and sanded to 1000, after a change in the lanes, i pulled out a 4.5 pin, kept the pin above the fingers, kicked the CG out and the mass out even far, small weight hole on the center line and sanded to 2000. Both worked wonderful for me. Best Nationals since 1989 for me.

Lay Out: 4.5" from PAP at 70* PAP angle and 50* VAL angle. The pin ended up above my ring finger. There is no weight hole.

Surface: I have used it box and loved it just cleaning it and touching it up with 4000abr by hand. I am ready to start and experiment with surfaces on it.

Purpose: I wanted a strong ball to compliment my Virtual Gravity. Sometimes my VG can be flat on the back when the condition gets drier up front. The Rogue was meant to be able to "ball" down to without having to give up the good look on the backend.

Lane condition Observations: I have thrown this at the USBC Nationals, on Scorpion on Pro-Anvilane in a PBA regional, on Kegel's Middle road pattern, and our house shot. Each time, the good crisp back end of this ball has stood out. I could go away from the pocket at times and the Rogue would just roll up and crush the pins. At times this ball appeared to be stronger than the Virtual Gravity especially with the way it held energy and carried. When the pattern has been shorter, I have bagged it because I have some other options that keep energy longer.

Final thoughts: The Rogue is one of those balls that Cell solid lovers will go nuts over. It is very defined on the back compared to the rollier solid Cell look. This is the ball that players who thought the Cell didn't get the corner unless the backs were clean, will drill just to do that.

It is hard to believe Roto Grip could improve on the original Cell, but the Rogue is just that: a capable and viable upgrade to anyones arsenal.

First of all this is a very good ball by Roto-Grip. My Rogue is drilled pin below the ring and the cg negative. For me this needs alot of oil for me to throw it, at junior gold the only time i used it was on long and i went minus 9 for 6. My high game so far with it is 280 i left a 10 pin. If you need a ball for oil this is it.

I Bowled on the Scorpion pattern with the Rogue Cell. I used this ball with a 5" pin below the fingers and a 50 degree layout. Even on the fresh pattern the ball gave me a smooth look off the break. After the lanes started to open up, all I did was move in to chase the oil line and the ball still was smooth off the break. The ball was strong enough when pulled a little in the oil it finished and when a little wide, it recovered. I shot 898 for 4 games. If you want a ball to control the mid lanes then this is it!! On most of today’s oil patterns it is about controlling the mid-lane, and controlling the break. With this ball in your hands, you will not be disappointed. Allow Roto Grip to put a winner in your hand.

This is the first ball that I have thrown by Roto-Grip and I am more than satisfied with how it reacts on the sport shots. I bowl on the William Paterson bowling team that is sponsored by Storm and this ball lines up perfectly in my arsenal as the "game 2" or "as the lanes transition" ball. This ball rolls real heavy for me but provides a smooth reaction, not something that is too jumpy or dies on the back end. I have mine drilled with the pin under the ring finger and the cg kicked out a little bit. This drilling provides me with a layout that gives me favorable room for error, even on the sport shots that we have bowled on so far for the team.

Here is the info on my 4th ROGUE I had drilled since the ball was released:
A 45x4x40 dual angle, longer in length then Rogue #3 I drilled for Nationals, but a less of an overreaction on really wet/dry lanes and wood lanes, or Guardian lanes. This one fits better into my latest bag combo of a 4x4 pin up Mutant, this Rogue, Reign, and Natural, Grand Illusion, and 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 pin down Mutant. This coverstock has grown on me recently. Would like to see this coverstock on Mutant Cell core... (HINT to Roger and Hank..)

My name is Eric.  I bowl for Wright State University . I used thsi ball in a college tournament up in Michigan. We were bowling on the scorpion pattern and the viper the second day and the lanes brunswick anvilane. My Rogue is drilled with the pin over the bridge. This ball was really forgiving on this pattern. it got down the lane and made a strong  move to the pocket. I also used this ball on house shot on house shot. it was a little bit to strong for a house shot and i was getting an under over reaction. this is overall a good ball longer oil patternss such as the scorpion pattern or patterns around 40-42 feet

Im a left hander bowling for wright state university. I just got my rogue cell drilled about two weeks ago and i love it. I have a dual angle drilling on it 55x 25 with 4.5 inch pin to pap. This gets the ball down the lane but come off the spot quick. Its been great so far on med to long oil. It is very smooth as most roto grip balls are. Overall its a great ball.

I am a student at Monmouth University that participates in the bowling club. Ever since I got the Rogue Cell, my score at practice and at tournaments has improved greatly. I don't remember exactly what the drill pattern or the pin placement was. Before I got the Rouge Cell, my greatest problem has been ball reaction. I always needed a ball that can react to lanes that have a heavy oil pattern. The Rouge Cell is the ball that can accomplish that. Rotogrip has done a fine job creating a bowling ball that can allow someone with a low rev rate to be able to hit the pocket.

I am a member of the Wright State bowling club and have had this ball for a couple months now.  This ball is excellent in longer oil patterns or patterns flooded with oil.  I am a player with more revs than speed and it works wonders for me in these patterns.  I have used it in collegiate tournaments and have been able to bowl well with this ball.  The ball has a nice roll with an easy transition into the hook.  I am able to get this ball to cover a lot of boards when needed.  I would recommend this ball to anyone who is looking for a heavy hooking ball or a ball needed for longer oil patterns.

Bowling for Wright State in college tournaments, i've found this ball most useful on a medium oil to medium-heavy oil pattern.  I'm a tweener, with a little more ball speed than revs.   I drilled this ball 45x70.   With great length, and a jump off the break point, this ball hits hard.   Easy to read down lane and a consistent reaction are trademarks of the Rogue for me.  I have the cover at 1000 at all times.  I do need to scuff it before each set to keep the reaction the same from day to day.  This ball has been very useful on several sports shots for me.  The rogue is my benchmark ball, and gives me the most accurate read on any lane condition.

I purchased my Rogue Cell for longer oil patterns that we see while bowling for Wright State.  It's drilled 30x4x45.  For heavy oil I put the cover to 1000 and it works great for the start of tournaments.  This ball is smooth with a strong hook and great finish.  This is a great ball for heavy oil. One of my new favorites!

Currently a bowler from Monmouth University, I received this ball from the sponsorship deal with my university. Currently, I only throw Roto Grip equipment. I made the switch from storm last year and have not disappointed me. The rogue cell is drilled basically for house patterns or high volume patterns. It’s called a 5 x 3 pin up drilling. Every sport bowler should have a ball drill this way and this ball is just perfect to do so. I throw the ball about 17 to 18 miles an hour with a high rev rate and average about 220. My normal line is about 15 to 4ish on most patterns if I miss out to 2 the ball still comes back hard. The only pins left on the deck would be the ten pin and some nine pins. Out the box I went 750 with a 299 game. This is one of my favorite balls on the market and it is a must buy. This ball will improve your game. Roto Grip lives up to their name “King of them All”.

Tonight I used a Rogue Cell the first game of league and shot 257.

The second game I shot 245 with a Cell Pearl.

Then the third game I shot 249 throwing a Nomad Pearl.

Using all three for me has given me a good predictable arsenal of balls for league and typical house shots in general.
The Rogue Cell has a 5x3 with pin above fingers and a good size hole 5 5/8 over from center of grip.
The Pearl Cell has the pin below with a small hole at 5 5/8 from center of grip through the cg.
And the Nomad Pearl has a 5x3 with a hole, taking the side wieght to negative 3/8.
I struck out to win series by a stick. Shooting 751 to 750.

Pretty Awesome!
