Picked up this gem a couple of weeks ago. I was looking something with length and pop on the backend. I told me driller that I wanted a ball to get through the heads and give me a hard arc to the pocket. This does the trick.
OOB, condition with the pin by my ring finger and CG in the grip. Oh how sweet it is. This ball is forgiving I've played with it down and in for 640,720 and 680 series and on other occasions swung from 15 to 5 with massive recover for a 735 series.
The ball is easily adaptable to your game and the carry is sweet. Out of all the games I've thrown with it I have left only one ten pen.
It will get squirty on carrydown but that to is easily compensated for with a little more hand.
The ball just flat out performs.

I was looking for a benchmark type ball. For my game, 360 rpm and 17 mph, I usually look for versatile stuff to fit the bill for this type of ball. The Illusion with its lower differential and strong coverstock seemed like a good fit.

Using a 5" pin up layout with CG slightly out and no extra hole, I was looking to creat good lenght with strong but not to flippy a backend reaction. I was not disappointed with the results.
With its out of the box finish I an able to get just inside the oil line on typical house shots and have room both ways. When I leak it to the dry it does not over hit and still had plenty of hit on shots in the oil.
The Illusion is a very versatil ball and fits weel as the first ball out of my bag. With minor surface tweaks, i can adjust the ball to fit all but the slickest or driest of conditions. Again, the Illusions versatility make this an easy ball to recommend.

I got he Illusion originally drilled out for the U.S. Open tournament but I wasn't able to get the ball to work out there.  It has been more then impressive on a variety of other shots though.  When I first got the ball I used it during league play on a house shot and put up a 705 series.  Then I used it during a Masters qualifying tournament a couple of weeks later and shot a 645 on a sport condition for the first three games.  What is nice about this ball is that it gets down the lane well and stores up so much energy that when it hits the pins carry isn't a factor.  This ball is important for any arsenol because of the versitility it possesses to be utilized on a variety of different lane patterns.  Good for PBA, sport, and house patterns.  I would recommend this ball to everyone that I know.

I received my Illusion through the RotoGrip Collegiate Program.  It is drilled with a 4 ¼” by 4” pin to PAP.
I first used my Illusion on the house pattern at our home center, which is dry on the outsides and heavy in the middle.  I have also thrown this ball on extremely dry conditions.  The Illusion gives me good reaction when the lanes are very dry.
The Illusion is my favorite ball to use on dry patterns.  It gives me a lot of length with controllable back end.
I would definitely recommend this RotoGrip ball for dry conditions.
