Roto Grip created the TNT Infused bowling ball with a focus on achieving both length and forgiveness. This ball is a benchmark in the Roto Grip line, featuring the same Torpex Core as its predecessor but wrapped in the eTrax PLUS Hybrid coverstock, a blend of two-parts pearl and one-part solid. The placement of the TORQUE SPHERE just above the core's inner equator results in the lowest RG symmetrical core in Roto Grip history. This design also increases the differential, leading to more overall ball motion and reduced pin deflection. In simple terms, it delivers explosive power and excellent pin carry, regardless of your rev rate. Our eTrax PLUS Hybrid Coverstock combines the best of pearl and solid materials, resulting in the right balance of control and explosiveness. This ball is engineered to deliver impressive performance and consistently knock down pins. With the Torpex Core and TORQUE SPHERE Technology, the goal was to create a coverstock that not only complements the TNT but also enhances the entire Roto Grip product line. The aim was for explosive performance, and this was achieved by crafting this 2-part pearl and 1-part solid concoction from eTrax PLUS material.

Orientation:  Right Handed
Rev Rate:  400 RPM
Speed:  16-17 MPH
PAP:  4 ½ over and ½ up

Location:  Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO
Pattern:  High Volume THS
VLS Layout:
Layout 1:  5 x 4 x 2 ½  (pin above bridge)
Layout 2:  4 ½ x 4 x 4 1/8 (pin below bridge)

The TNT Infused HOOOOKS.  I liked the TNT quite a bit when it came out but it does get slow at times.  The Infused comes off the spot HARD.  It is a lot of ball.  Where the TNT gets off the spot slow and continuous and lets you stay closer to the friction, the Infused just goes.  I HAVE to open the lane up to keep this ball online, but the solid part of the cover insures that it reads the front part of the lane, so oil is not a problem.  Being a high performance hybrid allows this ball to be used on all sorts of oil volumes and patterns because it tries to get through the fronts more than a solid but it also jerks, but not as much as a pearl!  Love some high performance hybrids!

The TNT Infused is Roto Grips newest piece in the HP3 line. This ball provides excellent mid lane read with its big core found in the original TNT as well. The pearl cover on this piece makes it sharp enough on the back end to get through the pins with ease, but does not want to go through with too much angle and 9 pin. I find this ball blends out wet/dry or over under really well. I find this ball very useful on sport due to its slower ball motion, making it more useful on low volume fresh sport patterns. Bowl up a Storm!!

The TNT Infused is a new symmetric ball in Roto Grip’s HP3 line.  It features the eTrax plus hybrid cover, which is a clean and responsive cover that we’ve seen before on the RST X-2 in pearl form, and on the TNT as a solid.  The core is the relatively new Torpex core which comes in at a low 2.47 RG and a .052 differential in 15 pounds.  The Infused feels like a longer and sharper version of the TNT, but it’s remarkable how much that improves the quality of the ball reaction.  I’ve used the Infused on several different conditions with a couple different surfaces.  The factory gloss is too inconsistent and sensitive for me, so I resurfaced it down to 1000 on a resurfacing machine, then finished it lightly with Storm’s Step 2 compound.  The result was a strong rolling, but clean, firm, and slightly forward arc.

The TNT was known for being surprisingly early and strong despite the cleaner cover formula, and unfortunately the front to back shape was too front heavy which made it lazy and apathetic down lane.  The Infused adjusts that shape, giving it a lot more balance and resulting in a perfect balance of core and cover.  The heavy rolling and early core gives a lot of stability to the reaction shape, while the cleaner and sharper cover gets the ball further down the lane and adds punch.  This makes the Infused a surprisingly effective and versatile ball that reminds me a lot of the original Zen, just cleaner and sharper.  Like the TNT, the reaction shape wants to be slightly forward, but the cleaner cover allows the bowler to control the shape a little better because you can get around it more without it digging in so early or being flat like the TNT was.  It fits well for a variety of bowler styles on most league conditions, and will be a great option for getting into transition on more difficult patterns.

Roto Grip TNT Infused Cover: eTrax Plus Hybrid Reactive Core: Torpex Core RG: 2.47 RG. Diff.: 0.052 Finish: Reacta Gloss Roto Grip’s new TNT Infused is a Hybrid (2/3 Pearl, 1/3 Solid) Symmetrical piece that is good for Medium-Heavy Volume Patterns. PAP is 5 5/16 R 1 3/16 Up. Rev Rate: 400. Speed: 16.5. Drilled this piece with the Pin above the bridge, CG kicked out 1” from the palm. I threw this piece on a fresh 42’ House pattern. Out of Box ball motion was smooth through the fronts with a hockey stick Motion on the backend. I compared this piece to the Roto Grip Magic Gem (Asym), Clone (Asym), and Hustle USA (Sym). Magic Gem 2-2 Left but started early in the mids with a smooth backend. Clone was similar line as the Magic Gem but a few more on the backend. Hustle USA was 3-3 Right and is smoother on the backend. This piece fits between the Magic Gem and the Hustle USA.

The all new TNT Infused is Roto Grips newest addition to the HP3 line. The infused features the Torpex Core (in the original TNT as well) with the eTrax Hybrid coverstock (with Reacta gloss) wrapped around it. I think that the Infused was a great addition to the line, I felt that the original TNT was a ball that was very shot dependent. If I needed a ball to be slow and rolly it was my go-to ball, however, I thought that the coverstock may have been too strong unless there was a lot of oil in the front part of the lane. I think that the eTrax Hybrid coverstock is more of what I like to see out of a ball, it allows the ball to slow down in the midlane without bogging down when it gets to the pins. The TNT Infused is great when you want to move in and open up the lane without sacrificing midlane control. This ball made a good ball (TNT) even better! The TNT Infused is our new Hybrid from the TNT Line. With the Torpex Core and eTrax Hybrid Cover, it really digs into the lane like the original TNT. Comparing it to my Zen and weaker asymmetrics, this ball still out curves then all. Never struggles to get back from whatever angle you can think. This ball is a monster!

Roto Grip TNT Infused
Cover: eTraxâ„¢ PLUS Hybrid Reactive
Weight Block: Torpexâ„¢ Core (Symmetrical)
Color: Glow Orange/Copper/Plum
Review:
Looking for a versatile benchmark ball that will be great as the first ball out of your bag on league night? Looking for a upgrade from that Tropical? Look no further than the TNT Infused. This ball plays off the original success from the TNT. The TNT infused is the type of ball that will get down the lane while offering plenty of pop on the backend. Being that the ball is a hybrid you won’t have to worry about the ball reading to early on the lane or over hooking on you. Being that the ball comes with the reacta shine you will not have to worry about getting through the fronts, it will get cleanly through the fronts while offering a good pop when it hits the pocket. When comparing this ball to other’s in my bag I am often drawn to the OG Hyroad with the TNT getting the slight edge due to bright vibrant colors. I would highly recommend this ball to anyone who is looking for a new hybrid in their bag.

SPI WEBSITE:
Length and forgiveness. Now go ahead and say that again with us out loud, length and forgiveness. That was the philosophy we used in creating the latest installment of the TNT Series of balls – TNT Infused. Just like the original TNT before it, we use the term “benchmark” to describe our latest masterpiece of destruction. Armed with the same Torpex Core, we opted this go around to wrap that explosive core with our newly formulated pin-piercing shell – eTrax PLUS Hybrid. This version is the synergistic blend of 2-parts pearl / 1-part solid. So, if you are in the market for an explosive energy release through the pin deck, then you my friend have come to the right place.
Release Date: November 3rd, 2023

The Roto Grip TNT Infused comes Reacta Gloss polished, but I changed the cove to 4000 Abralon (no polished), and what a delightful surprise it was. Benchmark, Responsive and Explosive. Fits between my TNT and 900G Xponent

From the moment I sent this ball down the lane, the explosive nature of the Roto Grip TNT Infused was evident. The energy transfer from the core to the coverstock is nothing short of impressive. The dynamic design of the weight block allows for a powerful release, creating a visually striking explosion of pins upon impact. Whether you're a power player or someone looking to increase their pin action, the TNT Infused delivers that explosive performance that can make a real difference in your game.

One of the standout features of the Roto Grip TNT Infused is its remarkable responsiveness. The ball reads the lane with precision, reacting to the oil patterns with a level of control that is truly remarkable. This responsiveness allows for adaptability on various lane conditions, making it a versatile choice for both league and competitive bowlers looking for a complementary ball to the TNT.  The TNT Infused responds with consistency, providing a level of control that gives me  confidence in every shot.

The Roto Grip TNT Infused has quickly become my go-to ball for establishing a benchmark on the lanes. The TNT Infused features a cleaner, more responsive cover on the original TNT weight block. While the TNT was round, slow and early, the Infused is cleaner and tips more, while still remaining familiarly smooth and controllable. If you're looking for a clean benchmark ball that fits right in the middle of the bag, then the Infused is the ball for you!

TNT Infused - Ball Specs

Core: Torpex Core

Review
Roto Grip has infused the TNT with a Hybrid Reactive Coverstock wrapped around the Torpex symmetric core making this ball clean through the fronts and very angular on the backends. The TNT Infused has an RG of 2.47 and differential of 0.052 with a cover that’s two parts pearl and one part solid giving it an explosive reaction and powerful pin carry. Over - Under or Cliff Killer is what I think the TNT Infused is going to be. I thought that this ball was going to be bigger than it is. I was pleasantly surprised that I could pull the Infused out mid tournament or set and be able to play that over under situation. It's nice because if I get it out quickly it sits and reads and if I get it into the oil, it has enough to come back. This ball will be in my bag just for this reason. I am excited about how this roll and for how hard it hits as well. This is going into my line up and now I am going have to make a few tough choices because the Storm Family of products (Storm, Roto Grip, and 900 Global) are making some seriously off the chart’s equipment.

I drilled up my ROTO GRIP TNT INFUSED with my standard layout of 4.5 x 4.5 x 2.5. This puts the pin close to the middle of my grip line but a good inch and a half above the fingers with a small CG kick out. I hit the surface with 1000 then lite Storm Rough Edge which is my new go to on factory Reacta Gloss surfaces.

I put this one up with my pearl balls that I use when I see a medium to medium dry pattern or house on burnt panels. I threw it against my EXOTIC GEM, newer JOURNEY, and VIRTUAL ENERGY BLACKOUT. Compared right away to these, the TNT INFUSED was longer thru the fronts than the EXOTIC and VEB. The JOURNEY was close with the same surface on it. The EXOTIC and VEB were close to the same ball motion as the INFUSED. The INFUSED started its move towards the pocket just a little later than both of those. Compared to the JOURNEY, it is much earlier and stronger down lane. These two should play off each other well.

Put this one in your bag if your looking for a stronger medium piece that has a slightly later motion than the big asym pearls do. Or if you want to get a 1-2 punch, grab a JOURNEY also.

TNT Infused. Really loved the Original TNT super excited for this Hybrid being 2 parts pearl one part solid. Layout 5x4x4…For me this balls rolls heavy really looks like its chugging down lane and when it hits the spot it goes. And goes and goes. This ball is a beast. Really liking this ball later on in the set when they start to break down. This ball lets me play in the same area of the lane that I started at. Great compliment to the original but better. The original as they broke down I would lose carry not with the Infused.   Infused for the win

I had success using the original TNT on tougher patterns, but it was too strong and rolled too early for me to be able to use it on the house shots that I see.  The TNT Infused is the absolute opposite; it is clean through the fronts but has an a bunch of backend flip.  Due to this, it is a killer on the medium oil house shots that I usually see.  Even though I would characterize the backend as being a bit flippy, it is still controllable.  It is strong enough overall to use to begin with, but has plenty of pop downlane as I need to move left throughout the night.  If I need something that can handle a bit more oil than the Infused, I change to the Sublime or the Magic Gem.
