I was called in to sub today, and so i went an hour early to catch the mechanic oiling the lanes. I talked to him and he said its freshly striped and re-oiled he had no idea on deatails of the pattern bc the head mechanic programs the machine he just applies the oil. i took a closer look on the lane and it seemed to be bone dry from the 1st arrow and out on both sides. i usually play 2nd arrow or sometimes between 2nd and 3rd and i play pretty straight and just hooks in the end. Anyways i shot 203, 223, 266 for a nice but short of 700, 692. Again in the first game my ball just slides and hits the pocket very light. for the most part. i tried bumping it off the dry and it worked somewhat but left a bunch of 10 pins. By the middle of the second game i was able to straighten up and play the 2nd arrow line with success. Im really convinced i need a stronger ball because of the way the ball just skates down. i bowl another league where there are a few people using house balls and the rsp has no problem with the carry down. I dont know maybe im just not warmed up enough in the first game and not getting enough revs. haha. but its christmas and i want to buy myself a new ball that will serve a purpose other than just having a new ball.
some of the most used balls were, Big One, Black Widow, Ultimate Inferno, Infinite One, Vapor Zone. I dont see many of the good bowlers changing balls. the ones that i did see was an Scorchin then an Elite Alien, another guy was using a Hawg Wild then switched to a Doom Raw Hammer. i have no idea what this means or how their balls were drilled but hopefully its good info. haha
