Reconfiguring my arsenal with RG..
« on: February 15, 2008, 02:11:11 AM »
Greetings all!

I am in the mood to retool my arsenal and really have enjoyed all the RG balls I have thrown, so figured would put together a RG tourney arsenal to take to all the big European Tour events over here.  Here is a link to see how I throw the ball..(of course badly but you will get the idea...)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXq7Aj12DYc (using a Total NV)

I am thinking of building the Arsenal with the following:

Odyssey
Cell
Horizon Solid (have already and boy do I love this ball)
Illusion
Neptune?

I was hoping to get some idea's from the RG types to suggest layouts and such. I usually am better with equipment that has a longer breakpoint (not the skid/flip) type.

Thanks in advance for all your help on this!

Mike

How do you currently have the Horizon Solid layed out? I didn't see any specs like PAP, speed, etc so can only give you what I have drilled as an example.

I have a Mystic layed out 4.5 X 3.75 with the pin above and between the fingers with no extra hole. My prefered line is pretty much straight up 5 board. The ball goes fairly long with a nice strong arc when it comes out of the dry. I also have a Venus layed out the same thinking that the ball would go longer by the BTM review but it's pretty strong. The shape is different but I think it's a board or three below the Mystic.

I also have an Odyessey, RS/P and Silver Streak Pearl, but am looking at eventually replacing them with maybe the Cell, the Illusion and maybe the Neptune (It has the same core as the Venus).

Oh dang my Profile has been wiped out...ugh...

Horizon Solid is drilled 4 X 4 Pin at 1:30....cg about 1 inch right of CG.  Keep it at box condition.

PAP - last check...5 1/4 and 1/2 up...
Speed - On average 14.5-15.2 on Quibica...should be about 17-18 normally...High Track...

Had a Mystic but really never found a good use for it so gave it away.  Me and Particle Pearls don't really seem to mesh well.
