Title: 828 with Nomad
Post by: CPA on December 23, 2009, 01:35:33 PM
Tonight I had an 828 with the Nomad.  The games were 280-289-259.  I knocked the polish off and found that fits my game better.

Yeah, I have found that ball to roll better for a larger variety of folks sans polish as well. I keep mine that way and so have most the folks I have drilled em for. Nice shoostin!

just out of curiousity how is yours drilled??
Ive drilled alot of these balls for customers and see great success with a 5  x  3 pin under drill.

What kind of ball reactions are you typically seeing with the 5x3 layouts?  Are you also leaving them mainly OOB polished, or have you been adjusting the covers?

original box.. ball reads the midlane excellant and has a surprisingly strong move off the spot.. keeps the pins low and has great continuation.

I have had good luck with this ball as well with the polish off. Mine is drilled 5.5X3 pin over bridge slightly left of midline. I use it after the carrydown is gone, move in to about 27 and play between 3rd and 4th arrow. This ball has excellent backend movement and all types of carry. Very rarely leave any corner pins. Just wondering why roto puts polish on the balls if most people roll better after taking it off.(Mainly nomad and mars)

I have three, one 5x4 with pin kicked up 3 inches,4000 pad with extend polish, then the next won is 5x3 with a 30 degree tilt, out of the box, the 3rd one is 3x5 with pin down 1 inches and at 2000. I feel the better rolling one is the last one, the second and a little too strong of the break point for house condition, but not strong enough for me for the tougher Kegel patterns. The 1st one I drilled, love the shorter oil patterns, with a little change in my release. I feel on "THS" the ball need to have a 4 to 5 layout and bee at 2000. I hope this info helps anyone looking to drilling a NOMAD. Best of Luck to all.

The pin is approximately 4 1/2 inches from my PAP and is above the bridge.  The CG is kicked to the right about an inch.

The Nomad becomes a great THS ball once the polish is knocked off.

My sentiments exactly. We didn't sell many here as people are still obsessed with the Virtual Gravity at our center, but never had a complaint about the Nomad from any customer who did purchase one.

I knocked the factory shine down to 4000 and this ball is flat awesome!
