RG setup: Would you carry both a Cell and an Odyssey?
« on: March 17, 2008, 11:56:37 PM »
Greetings!

I am currently creating my Tournament Arsenal and am thinking of what I need on the heavy and med heavy type shots and possible sport pattern (long oil) that we see here in Europe sometimes.  I have decided on at least one Cell and am trying to figure out if I need another Cell or an Odyssey. Thinking something like...

Cell
Cell 2/Odyssey
Illusion
Pluto
Neptune

Any help on this would rock!

Thanks!

Mike

I would not, the Odyssey spins up too quick and gets into its roll phase too fast for my liking. Now I was OK with this, that is until the Cell was released. For a "oiler" the Cell allows you to stay in one place for a sustained period of time while maintaining a good reaction. The Odyssey, in my hands, did not provide that luxury. Don't get me wrong, the Odyssey was/is good, just had a tendency to "tire" out at the pins, not the case with the Cell. I personally cannot justify having a Cell and a Odyssey in one's bag, I would much rather have 2 Cells.

I have taken out my Odyssey and replaced with the Cell.  I'd recommend the Horizon Solid instead of the Odyssey if you can find one.

I made this years team.  Did you go to camp a couple years ago in Reno?

Moose..

Oh man now I have to think back...*laugh*

I think the last one I was at was in Vegas.  I believe Reno I was deployed and wasn't able to attend.  I haven't been there too much recently due to deployments and not bowling enough to be competitive.

Nope, count me in also. Love my Odyssey, much more than my Cell. Just matches up with my style much better.

i still love my odyssey too the cell is like putting a 44magnum in a 6 year olds hands for me. way too much ball for evryday. its a really great ball but for me its too strong for what i see ,i am afraid to polish it cause i dont want it to fit in with my other stuff in the instance where i might need something that strong,so the odyssey stays for when the cell is too much
