RotoGrip Epic Odyssey

I know this is an older ball but does anyone have any info on this ball?  Looking for a med-heavy to heavy oil ball with a big backend.  Looking at the stats for the ball this ball may have what I am looking for.

Great ball but I found that in order to increase backend, I had to go with really weak pins (5.5" - 6") and weaker MB angles (60-70*).  The combination of low RG, strong solid cover and strong MB made for a ball that wanted to start up very quickly. Once I got the combo right, I had a ball that had great recovery downlane for a solid but still could handle some oil.

Just curious, why not the Cell?  I feel the Cell has more continuation downlane and is more versatile layout wise because it doesn't want to hook as early. I've been able to go with stronger layouts with less problems than I did with the Odyssey but can handle as much if not more oil.

I was probably gonna go with that layout ( 5.5" and 60* mb) as that is what most of my stuff is and most of the time when I vary from it the piece doesn't seem to work that well.. or I don't work well with it.. one of the two.

I had a cell with pin down and a 45 deg mb... and it was just too early and archy for me.. no backend or recovery.. or continuation like you say.  I could get another one and put the 5.5 pin up 60 deg mb drill on it... but kind of have a sour taste with the cell.. as I see others that had a similar layout as mine making it work.. and similar styles.. so maybe I just don't fit well with it.

Cause that is pretty much the only ball that I don't have..  : ) Heavy oil with backend ball.  I have heavy oil smoother stuff.
And I tend to like the look , reaction , and carry of a ball that moves on the backend regardless of the condition.  Even though it is harder to control for some people I think it actually makes me bowl better because I know exactly what I need to do to the ball to get to the pocket and get strikes.
After this ball I think I am done.. atleast for a while.

Yeah I was gonna suggest that too after looking at the numbers of the Epic line...

Thanks for the info.. I pretty much have that look with my Anger or my rico'd Mammoth.
I think the Odyssey will be different enough from those two to make it worth it..
