Arsenal Question
« on: December 21, 2009, 10:01:27 PM »
I have talked with a few different people on here about my arsenal and I would like to get everyones opinion on a ball for an older house with guardian heads and old wood lanes (have not been resurfaced in atleast 4 years).  I have not bowled on a wood surface in close to 5 years so I''m sure what to expect.

Here is the arsenal I have at the moment:
Mutant Cell: 60*x5"x40*
Rogue Cell: 45*x4"x30* w/ 11-16" hole 2" deep 2" down my VAL
Cell Pearl: 75*x4.5"x50*
Mars: 85*x4"x45*

Profile:
PAP: 5-3/4" over 1-1/4" up
Rev Rate: 305
Speed at Pins: 16.5
League Avg.: 215

I''m not real sure what to expect from a wood surface on fresh or when it''s broke down since it has been so long so any help you all can give me would be appreciated.  I think I''m ok with the Mutant or Rogue for a fresh shot, (Lately I have been bowling very well with my Cell Pearl on a fresh shot on synthetics) but I''m not sure about when the lanes break down.

Do you have any experience/info on the pattern?

Wood tends to hook more, plus with the guardian, it gets interesting.

You seem to have just about everything covered except the major extremes, which you won't see during a league set I'll bet.

There are 2 houses, both Guardian heads, and both wood lanes.  House 1 has not had lanes resurfaced in atleast 4 years.  House 2 had lanes resurfaced in summer of 2007.

House 1 condition will be a THS to 40'. Day 1 is 3 games of Team (5 man). Day 2 Singles/Doubles 3 games each, move after 1st set.

House 2 condition is a flat house shot to 38'.  8 game set moving every 2 games.  6 bowlers per pair.

My home house (synthetic) is the same pattern that will be in House 1..
That's all the info I have.  Thanks for the help.

Having just bowled a tourney this past weekend at a wood house with Guardian, expect the heads to go away REAL quick.
