Looking at a Drier option for when the lanes get burnt, 2nd to 3rd game ball recently on the 5 man league I bowl on(not putting a lot of oil out). Looking at either Hustle POW or Matchup Hybrid (both Higher RG , low diff). I feel the ink may be too strong, do you agree?

Hy-Road Pearl or Match Up Hybrid in my opinion.
Current Rotation:

Axiom Pearl

Thank you, kind of what I was thinking. Do you think the ink would be too strong?

Tloy,

The hustle imo, handles med oil with NO PROBLEM; TOO Much for lighter conditions.  As far as the Match-up goes, it definitely would be a better fit, as I can play left and stay in the track longer due to the high rg.

On the conditions I face, the Ink and Mu hybrid are excellent 1-2 punch.

The Ink is 3 boards weaker than the famous IQ Tour ( almost identical ball motions as well).  I would stay away.

So here's my issue recommending the Ink for light condition/burn. It is decently strong and once the track is burned in or it starts light, you can't play on top of it. When you chase the oil left, you eventually hit a point where you need a little more diff to carry the back row and there's just better options for playing that angle.

I think it's a great ball and would recommend it to almost anyone to have in their bag, just not the first choice for this particular spot you're filling. My favorite shot with the ball so far is a fresh medium house shot. Only sport patterns I've got to try it on so far were Bear on wood and a Reverse block on wood. I didn't quite get lined up with it right, but could have honestly been all me.

LookingForALeftyWall,

Yes, I usually start with the Fused. Then either the Danger or something weaker like a Pin under Shatter..

The Fused, while being skid-flip, gets into a roll fairly early with it's strong rolly core.  I think the HyRoad Pearl would be the best Storm/Roto option in terms of being fairly similar in shape (skid-flip) but would be a bit longer.  The INK from what I've seen and know about it would not be that ball.

Lol I've got the Match Up Pearl as the second worst ball I've ever thrown, right between the Savage Flip and the Diablo . . it's almost like they wanted to see how over/under they could make a ball.

The Hectic is the best answer, the Hectic will always be the best answer, but finding one is the challenge.  Hustle Ink and Match Up Hybrid are kind of on par for me, just different shapes.  Hyroad Pearl starts off pretty aggressive, but once you get a few games on it, it mellows out and really turns into a great light oil ball.  Tropicals are too weak.  Hustle POW is actually pretty good, it's just not as weak as you want it to be.  The Ink for me, outside of the Hectic, is still going to be the truest light oil ball option you're going to have.  Drill it with a weak pin and keep it shiny.  The Ride was the perfect light oil ball though . .

I'd say match up pearl, goes super long!

Struggling to find a Ride but I can find a Joyride. How do the two compare for that perfect light oil spot ?

There is a good reason for that. Ride is another one of those legend balls Storm needs to rerelease like the Virtual Gravity (opposite of a dry ball).  From what I understand the Joy Ride is more jumpy to the dry than the Ride.

There is currently a Ride on ebay, fully plugged and ready to be drilled for $64.95 shipped.  I was tempted to buy it myself, but my Cardinal Red Boost and Desert Hook have me covered for light to dry conditions.

I get why the Ride is a great burn piece, but I do wonder why yhe Joy Ride doesn't fit that realm like the Hectic (or does it and its just forgotten because of color?)
