Shout vs Venus
« on: October 16, 2012, 12:08:13 PM »
Anybody know how these balls compare as far as strength?  RG and Diff numbers are pretty similar but I don't know about the strength of the covers.  I've seen the post about the Neptune being weaker than the Scream, but the Neptune also has an even lower diff (.018) than the Venus (.028) while the Shout has a .022.

Don't forget the Venus was a particle pearl!

FWIW I loved my original Venus, so much so that I bought a 2nd one maybe 3 years later. Unfortunately the ball reaction of the 2nd was very different compared to that of the original, even though the drilling was the same.

The Shout and Venus are similar overall strength while the Venus is a bit sharper in the backend and The Shout makes it's move a bit earlier.  Both are great medium-light oil balls.

I may look at the Storm Breeze to make sure I would be getting something that is definitely weaker than the Venus.

The breeze if drilled moderately strong like all weak balls USUALLY should be, still is capable of backend but will put one usually playing very straight in the heads.

Decided to get the Shout and see what happens.  I figure I'll get more use out of it and if it is still too strong for the toast, I can look into getting the Tropical Breeze later.  I've been getting better at playing deeper since I have been forced to at a couple of houses so I think the Shout will be good.

Took my Shout to P3000 from OOB 1500 polished and it reads wet/dry house shots much better without the over/under.  I can hit it a little harder at the bottom and it carries well.  Kind of reminds me of the Saturn.

Scott, how is your Shout laid out?  I'm having mine drilled with the pin below the bridge so I'm expecting it to be pretty smooth already.
