Best aggressive drill for Fuel
« on: July 02, 2003, 03:47:42 AM »
What is the best aggressive drill for a Fuel?  The oil pattern looks pretty much 1-1 but at times you can get away with playing straight down 10.  I can't seem to get any ball to hook on these lanes.  Just got the Fuel because of its reaction on oil.

Ruff,

What is the most aggressive ball you have tried to use on this condition and how was that ball setup?

Thanks,

Mustang Guy,

I've tried a Storm Response drilled with the pin under the ring finger.  The ball was sanded to about 400 grit.  Also tried an Ebonite Predator drilled stacked leverage and a Storm X-Factor Deuce drilled stack leverage.  Thanks for the reply.

None of those are hooking on heavier conditions for you?  What is your speed/rev rate?  What were you getting out of the response and the Deuce?  One is heavy particle and the other is an aggressive solid reactive.  two completely different coverstocks, so my guess would be 2 completely different reactions also.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Mustang Guy,

On the response, the reaction was very unpredictable...on occasion the ball would setup in the pocket and sometimes the ball would seem to roll out just before hitting the pocket.  On the deuce, the ball would not work at all in the first game because it would have trouble hooking into the pocket but the second game it would have better results but still not consistent enough for a decent 200 game. My speed is usually average but can either throw it a bit harder with a few more revs or slow it down to about 11-12mph like my profile says. I book a 203 average and average a 221 in another house but here my average has dropped to a 187.  I know that some people would welcome the fact to lower their average but I am not into that way of thinking.  I try and bowl the best game I can each time I bowl (besides practice)  Really frustrating......thanks for your help.
