BIG THINGS ARE COMING...BIG THINGS
« on: May 01, 2008, 11:03:43 AM »
I'm pretty excited about this upcoming announcement, but I can't say anything yet.  Roto Grip is going to be signing a new PBA exempt player early next week.  This guy is a great bowler, great person, and soon to be the face of Roto Grip.

Who could it be?

If I made a guess as to why he signed. I would say it is one of three things if not all three. One roto makes good equipment, I had some stuff from roto that I really like. Two I would say he made the switch because roto offers a great blend of strong Asymetrical and symetrical equipment. With columbia only having symetrical I could see that as a down side. Third, he makes shows like they are nothing. He went from a year where he was on like everyother show (06-07) with Track (kind of the face of track that year). To another good season (07-08) but no longer the face of the company he is using.

All in all I hope he still does well, and hey this just gives me a reason to pull out my epic Saga and have some fun.

Wes will keep up the great bowling for sure. He is a great bowler and he will have the best equipment on the market in his hands. I can't wait for next season to see him crushing with some roto.

This may seem unimportant, but one thing I had heard during the season is that Big Wes was searching for Super Troopers, and without much luck.  Columbia didn't seem to have what he wanted anymore, whereas Roto-Grip certainly does, with the Pluto (as well as the other planets).  I would be willing to bet that you will be seeing Wes throwing one of the planets on tour for right side spares or on the burn.

I heard the new Columbia contracts stated that they could only throw balls made from the Kentucky plant.  No old stuff from San Antonio.
