how to clean the cell?
« on: April 27, 2008, 10:55:00 AM »
I wanted some tips on cleaning my new cell. I bowled a tournament this weekend with my new cell. It only has 9 games on it but the oil pattern was heavy. I don't have a ball spinner, so I would like to know should i soak it to keep the oil out of the ball? How should I clean it at this point. Thanks for your help.

Is Track's Clean N Dull the same as PowerHouse's Clean N Dull?

It's supposed to be. I am still using my Track C&D. Haven't bought any Powerhouse C&D.

Step 1:  Use the Clean & Dull on the ball
Step 2:  Wipe the residue off the ball with a wet rag
Step 3:  Dry the ball with a dry towel

n00dlejester,

That's it. I usually use 3 separate Bounty paper towels; they're heavy duty. I throw all 3 away. I also use a spinner lightly for this, but it works fine by hand. Just use some firm pressure.

I have seen the Ebonite PowerHouse video on the Ebo website and they do not use the middle step. That is wrong; it is needed to help remove any potential residue.

I do not know if Ebonite/Jeff Ussery has decided to change the instructions on their new C&D bottles; I don't even know if they had the manufacturer change the formula. If they have not changed the formula, they should restore the original instructions. They are not the developing chemists in this case; so they do not know the formula. I believe they should follow the manufacturer's recommendations. As far as I know, APP is still the manufacturer of C&D.

A little acetone works well too, but not much. Just a little.

See my note near the top of this thread regarding acetone vs Lanemasters cleaner.
