What the heck is a bandit 2?
« on: April 09, 2006, 07:59:42 AM »
There are some on e-bay and I was wondering what cover and core they have?  I did the "google" thing, but couldn't find anything pertinent.

Anybody remember these things? They came out in '94 or '95 I think.

Best I can come up with...

The original Bandit had the Grenade core so I guess the BII could as well...

Grenade w/pic of core...

Does that core remind you of anything new from Roto?

Yes it does.  I thought about that the first time I saw it.  I had both the black and gold grenade ( back in the day ) and loved them.  Might have to look into this a bit further.  Currently, my favorite roto ball is the RUSH.

I just bought one of these off eBay, and drilled it up 4.5 x 5, pin below ring finger. It came sanded(400 grit or so), so I smoothed it out to 1000 grit, then put a coat of Black Magic on it. I just rolled a few with it, and it gets excellent length(which I wanted) with a smooth, moderately strong backend(which I also wanted). I only threw my Vendetta Particle Pearl(5 x 4, pin under ring) alongside it, and the Bandit II definitely hooks a couple boards less, allowing me to square up more, and it doesn't over-read the dry as much as the VPP. Overall, I'm very happy with it, especially for the price($33 shipped).

Yea, I was intending to get a couple myself, but the listing disappeared before I did it, and it hasn't been back since
