Has anyone "dulled" their Cell Pearl?
« on: January 18, 2009, 07:27:59 AM »

Wondering if anyone has tried this adjustment.... I have had a tough time finding a condition that matched well with this ball. Hooks too early in the track, not enogh recovery from deep.

I am almost considering going to 2000 grip and turning it into a "Cell Solid" or something close.

Open to thoughts....thx!

A Guy I know did knock the shine off it.  Picks up a little sooner, but still had good reaction.

I have 2, both dulled and I find they work better this way. My pin under CP is at 4000 and is awesome. My pin up 4x4 is 2000 grit...Hope this helps

Go 2k abby it will not be a solid cell, Paul it will be a very nice angular ball closer to the Angular One type of look. OOb it is over under galore for me at 2k abby it goes way up on the liking scale.

2000 for me just leaves lots of 10 pins from any angle and burns all its energy up before it hits the pins. I think I got a super strong cell pearl.

I just took my CP to 4000 abralon and it is something else!  It really smooths out the break point, but still has that strong but now very consistent and strong move off the point.

For me it is a bit too strong for the THS...but it is killing them in the PBA Leauge.  It is such a great piece and with the Cell above it and my Illusion below it I really have a lovely PBA League setup.

I have 2 Cell Pearls that are left as when they came out of the box!!  I must say that it is a VERY STRIKING looking ball!!

Was thinking about it seeing it likes leaping into 3-6-10 country on the house shot. Left it box and use it on the kegel 'beaten path' pattern in one of my leauges and makes it look like a house shot anyway!!
