Grand Illusion!
« on: February 13, 2009, 02:51:59 PM »
Just a quick note on this amazing ball! Specs on ball is 15-3 3-3.5" pin and 2.93 top weight! I have found a layout that really matches up with my style of play and it has worked on my Cells and it has worked great on this gem! I used a 40deg x 43/8" x 70deg layout which places the pin 1" above my midline and the centerline just touches the left side of the pin. The cg is below the midline in the thumb quadrant which places the unmarked mb 1" past my val. I placed a weight hole on line from grip center thru cg to the right of my val with a 15/16" drill bit. The Grand Illusion revs up easy and early for me with this layout, but it doesn't burnup, but has a strong continuation at the breakpoint. I used this ball tonight and had several people comment about how hard the ball was hitting and the messenger were flying! Don't be afraid to experiment with different layouts, cause you never know what you might discover and I have a Pluto that's getting this same layout! The cover on this beast is very strong and takes adjusts very well! Thanks for reading, Bruce
