I've used just about every cleaner and polish on the market and have experimented with every different surface imaginable. I've never had a ball die on me, Ebonite or anyone else. I've noticed a change in reaction or maybe a ball didn't seem as strong as before but not totally die. For those that have the time: On a dull ball, use the Scotch Brite or Abralon pad grit of choice, wet the pad and use Clean N Dull. Make sure the pad isn't too wet or you'll get a soapy lather and will dilute the CND too much. Do half the ball at a time, normal pressure on the pad, take a wet rag and go over and dry with a clean microfiber towel. As soon as you do the first half of the ball, you'll see the difference. On a shiny ball, do the same with a sponge or the back of an abralon pad. You may have to rub some stubborn belt marks a little to get them out.
For those that don't have the time: Dull ball, get a bottle of Neo-tac Hook It and some paper towels and simply spray onto the paper towel and do half the ball, avoid getting it on your grips or slug, and wipe clean with another paper towel. On a shiny ball, do the same with Neo-Tac Renew It, which removes belt marks off a shiny ball better than anything else IMO. You can use Renew It as a cleaner or a polish.
All the companies make great polishes and cleaners, and this is what works best for me. My Cell has over 200 games on it and looks and reacts like new. A 2000 abralon pad and Clean N Dull and five minutes to do it. Hope this helps ya!
