Cell Pearl
« on: November 10, 2009, 01:23:06 PM »
I just got a cp and I am not quite sure how to have it drilled.  I am looking to make this my main ball for heavier patterns (not heavy oil).  I was thinking about having it drilled with the pin above the bridge with the mb kicked 50 degrees.  Would this give me a consistent look (a nice midlane with a strong move in the back)?  If not, is there any suggestions that anyone can give?  Thanks for any help.

I agree with bowlingnut.  I have my pin above my bridge (5-1/4" from pap) and my mb 1" right of my thumb.  It works well when there is oil in the heads, but when it finds a dry board that's all she wrote because it's going left.  I took the polish off and put a 4000 surface on it to tame the reaction and it has worked well for the few games I've thrown it.  I'm more used to a strong arc so the long skid for me with a backend is a different look and I'm not real comfortable with it yet, but the ball does what I drilled it to do.

i have mine drilled with the pin under the ring and the mb kicked out just a tad. also have a lot of polish on this ball. when the heads are fresh, this ball just sails through until the back and once it hits the dry its like someone kicked it. ive always had most of my stuff drilled with the pin above the bridge and mb/cg kicked out but this time i wanted to go under. real good look when my rogue(pin under and between the bridge mb kicked out pretty far no x-hole) reads too soon, but also a real good look to help me read the lanes.

Mine is drilled pin above and to the right of my ring finger (RH), MB is just to the right of my thumb and a small x-hole on my VAL.  I guess it could be considered "stacked".  I took the polish off and brought the surface to 4000 abralon.  As long as I keep my speed up this works great on a used up shot on wood.  I have issues on a fresh shot, but thats more of a mental issue, lol.
