Cell Pearl: Ball Motion Question
« on: December 22, 2008, 06:08:26 AM »
For those who have the Cell Pearl would you define the ball motion on it as strong midlane like the Complete NV, Momentum and Gravity Shift? Or is it more of a long and aggressive backend like the Black Widow Pearl, BW Venom and Kinetic?

Since the Venom is the strongest backend ball you mentioned, AND others have told me the CP is stronger than the Venom, I'd have to say it's in the range with the Break Pearl. The Cell Pearl, as far as I have seen, is one the strongest backend balls currently available. The Kinetic is a solid but has a very strong backend. If anything, it would be in that category.

Keep in mind, a lot depends on the bowler's release, ball speed and the usual suspects. I've seen people pipe up the 7/8 board and I've seen people cover all 40 boards with it.

Other than the videos I haven't seen anyone actually throw this ball yet. I was hoping this one would not overlap with my Power Machine since I do need a pearl that revs up earlier than the PM but having more arc than skid/flip. BTW, I've seen the Venom and that ball is scary in the backend.

this ball has the midlane of a solid with the backend of a strong pearl. It is way stronger than i ever expected with my 5x3 drill on it. Sorta condition specific for me.

IMO the Cell Pearl is VERY strong in the midlane possibly more so than all the balls you listed, its closest to a Gravity Shift in terms of midlane, a little stronger down lane than my Gravity shift. A little earlier than a Complete NV, but similar backend reactions.

The Cell Pearl gets down the lane and make a strong move towards the pocket for me. But it is not skid/flip at all. I have above average rpm and I use the Cell Pearl when my skid/flip ball are hitting too hard. It is a very good ball IMO
