I was looking at both of these. Here in KY, I have not seen a lot of either of these thrown. I was wondering, if both given the same drill pattern, say 4 1/2 x 4, pin over bridge, how would these two balls react compared to each other...any carry info would be great as well!
Thanks

Josh, I am not very familiar with the Venom, but I can tell you the Cell Pearl would be pretty angular and very strong for you. (Definately more than any of your current equipment) When I threw one at Dixie Bowl the other week in a Storm/Rotogrip Open House, I had to stand three boards further left than I did with my Gravity Shift, and basically all of that motion was on the backend. It just ignored the heads and midlane basically. Hopefully that will help you out a little.

I have bowled against a guy throwing similar rev and speed as me with a similar drilling. I was throwing my CP and he was throwing the Venom. These balls are very similar. The only difference I saw was as we dried out the track my ball, the CP, has a much stronger core and therefore started jumping first. He ended up beating me third game because he didn't have to make a big move like I did. The one thing I did notice is I seemed to have more area then he did. We ended up splitting the match 2-2 with me winning the first 2 games close and he took 3rd and series. I believe it was 701-709. Both very good balls but with the CP having more area and also the Crown line having slower oil pick-up I would say the longer life and forgiveness should make the CP the better choice. It is for sure ball of the year 09. Also I have had some of the best carry ever with the CP. Since getting it I have seen my average go from 215 to 223 and i would say most of that is because of one less tap per game.
