Nomad Pearl Coverstock

On Roto Grip's site they state that the Nomad Pearl has an "friction enhancing additives" on the coverstock. Now is this a marketing slang saying that it has abit of solid on the cover? The same discription is also on the Nomad Solid on the site, too. I know alot of companies have used the word "additives" on their products before but what the means for one company could be different for another.

A lot of pearls over the years have used Mica.  Roto has been pretty forth coming over the years if they use a solid/pearl blend, so I don't think it's that.

Could be the mica additives like the Second Dimension? Mica was a bit "fad" in the late 90's right before the particle craze struck.

The Track Triton Heat comes to mind. Put a low RG on a pearl with Mica and it smoothes out the backends.

Sledge Hammer and El Nino Wrath comes to mind


As far as I know, small sized mica particles are used to create ALL pearlized resin balls.

In the late 90s, Storm added larger sized mica to help add a small degree of extra traction on a few balls.

Add the Hammer Truck and the more recent AMF Nkryption Code to those balls using larger sized mica as a form of particles to add traction to the coverstock.

The friction enhancing additives from the design intent form indicate it's similar technology used on the Cytoplasmic covers.  From Hank's seminar on YouTube, it's in the chmical bonding process, not necessarily a new trick or twist they have uncovered.
