Title: Cell Pearl vs. Polished Dimension
Post by: Ric Clint on November 16, 2008, 05:45:32 AM
If both of these balls are drilled the same and polished to the same grit... which would you rather have in your arsenal?

And why?

I know one is a Pearl, and the other is a Solid... but if both are polished to the same grit, which balls reaction would you rather have?

Which do you think would have a better roll? Better length? Better backend drive/continuation? More overall hook?

Thanks!

Well, I do have both of these, though, both are not drilled the same, the dimension is semi-polished and the cell pearl has a lil' more polish to it.

The dimension isn't as long and a very smooth reaction, not jumpy off the spot, and drives through the pins very well.

The cell pearl is a little more longer than the dimension and pretty snappy off the spot ( still controllable ) I wouldn't call the ball an over-under kind of ball, but sometimes it can really hit and drive then others is still hits but not a whole lot of drive.

Overall, both carry well, I can play only a 3-4 board difference deeper with the cell pearl, but I find that I am able to be a little more versatile in lines with the dimension.

Hope this helped some!

I personally would pick the Dimension. It would be earlier rolling, smoother on the backend, and I would bet more hook.

I just like non mass bias equipment as well as non pearl equipment, I find myself with more options when bowling with those types and tend to match up better.
