Cell question

Have read from another ball review site that a few of he bowles' Cell actually died or worn off after only 3 months or 45 games of usage. Any Cell user here have the same problem ? A bowler in our league uses one for quite a while now and the ball is still going strong....he bowled a 299 against us a few weeks back...sad

Nope, not here.
My guess: peopel still not cleaning dull balls used on plenty of oil. ANy oiler will suffer reduced performance under such circumstances, by lazy people. I can count the number of people I see cleaning their balls after league on the fingers of 2 fingers: me and my partner. period. And that's out of 32 doubles teams!

3 months and 200+ games on mine and it still hooks like the day I got it.

Got my Cell on March 12. 200+ games later, it's still carrying all 10 pins like a mack truck. I clean my Cell with Storm's Reacta Clean after each set and have subjected it to a hot water bath once. I believe with proper maintenance, the ball should stay strong for many more games. No Cell death here.... :-)

Got the 1st CELL on last December, and after a few games and decided to bought another one because it is a perfect ball, just think when the 1st CELL die, i have another one. But until now I still using the 1st CELL (just rejuvenate once on March, approx. 90%-95% react as the new after rejuvenate), it's a very very great ball!!

OOH! The 2nd one is still in the locker, sorry baby!!

Agreed, people just not maintaining equipment properly.

Im still throwing 3-6 year old balls that hook as much as ever.

You have to take a lot these post with a grain of salt! I only really read the post by known people that post that actually know something about the sport. Nothing personal, but I've been in the bowling business since the late 70's and I've heard a lot of stories and most are that, just stories! I wish everybody that post on here had to create a profile of bowling experience and how long they been around the sport, etc.. I see guys in the bowling center where I have my shop that haven't cleaned their equipment since they bought it and they wonder why their game doesn't have any consistency. One guy bought a Total NV and a NVS and came to me about ball reaction. I asked him if he had been cleaning it after he used it like I had told him when he bought it. I always show make sure they know to keep their equipment clean to ensure the same performance. He said the ball is only four or five months old and didn't figure it needed cleaning yet! As been stated on here by some very knowledgeable people the importance of maintaining your equipment. Just my $.02 and sorry about the rant, Bruce

A bowler just posted a review about his Cell not working for him after 4 months in this forum. He actually cleans it and have it re-con but....

One of my bowlers (Ron Case) is a Roto staffer. I drilled one of the first Cells sent out before release date and he bowled 800+ the first night he threw it. I beleive it was in late Nov? He uses it CONTINUOUSLY and just 2-3 weeks ago had 300-300-300 !!!!! I'm not sure, BUT..... I DON'T THINK IT DIED YET!!!!!!!!!

I've used the Cell and some of the latest Hammer equipment, and not one ball has ever 'died'.  i look after my balls methodically, and respect that the high end equipment needs continual maintenance to perform.

i think it is a bit of a myth amongst average bowlers, who might have a night where they don't release properly, or are not understanding that there is more or wider oil on the lane, or bad carrydown, and blame the ball for not hooking 'like it use to'.

You give me a ball that's 10 years old, and with a bit of prep, i guarantee i could still make it hook!

I agree with Beano, cleaning your equipment is a must if you don't want to buy a ball every 3 months. Infact I have seen a few balls with over 100's of games and after cleaning then really good, sanding them down and bringing the surface back up, the ball still hooks quite a bit. So it boils down to what you clean your equipment with and if you even clean your stuff at all. It's just like your car or truck, if you don't change the oil for a long time, everyone knows what will happen with that..lol!

I've had mine for about 6 weeks nows with probably 75+ games on it and it stills rolls great. I clean my stuff religiously though, if it gets thrown at all in a series it gets cleaned. The cover looks great and the track is very minimal. I definately recommend this ball and am actually thinking about picking up a few more myself.
