I'm thinking of getting the Cell very soon and was curious to which layout everyone went with on their's.

Which layout did you use?

Did you use a stronger pin placement on your Cell compared to your other equipment?

Finally what's your overall impression of the Cell?

I know exactly what layouts to use on symmetrical equipment. My favorite layout for these types of bowling balls is pin above the bridge 5.5" from my pap. I've had great success with almost all the symmetrical balls i've used this layout on. I've also had some great success using a really strong stacked leverage layout on symmetrical equipment. Stacked leverage is a great layout for me but is very condition specific because of how strong the pin placement is. I usually have to use a lot of ball speed to keep the ball from rolling out but it does give one hell of a reaction thru the lane and can be killer on certain patterns.

I recently learned that placing the MB near my VAL on asymmetrical equipment is not a good idea. I used to have success with that MB placement. However, my game and release have changed dramatically over the last 2 years. I use more of an up the back of the ball release. I don't have a lot of ball tilt and have a decent rev rate. So any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

On a side note: I had a great ball reaction from an Angular One I used to have and the layout I used on that ball was pin above the bridge 5.5" from my pap with the MB 1" right of my thumb in the strong position. This ball worked great for me. I'm just not sure if I should go with a stronger pin placement on this ball or keep the placement i've had good luck with?

I have 2 drilled. #1 is drilled 5 in from PAP(PAP coord. 5 over 1/2 up)pin under bridge. Ball has a 2in pin out which puts cg in middle of grip with mb about 45 degrees. Ball is smooth as silk, doesn't overreact to dry and need head and midlane oil too use. Cannot swing alot but thats not what I dilled it for. #2 has a 6 in pin about 2 inches above middle finger. Pin to cg dist about 4 in again placing cg about midline and mb 1 in right of thumb about 45 degrees. Ball 2 is polished over OOB condition. Reaction is longer and harder than ball 1 but by no means is snappy. I can belly this ball much more and not have to worry about it burning out. Plays straight great also. Both layout i have use on symmetrical balls with great success so I stuck with them. Hope this helps let me know if you have any questions.

I've drilled a few and it is a very impressive ball (price point cannot be beat). Comparatively to what I saw against the Battle....about (3-4) stronger depending on the bowlers style. If you're up the back bud, this ball will still give you free spin thru the heads with "great" midlane and continuation.

I'd suggest to ask Mark Curran or my buddy Anthony Chapman as they have first hand on this piece and more versatile drillings as well but I will say again that this is a very nice piece....as always, hopes this helps some.

I have mine drilled pin below my ring finger and the MB on my VAL and absolutely love it.

Thanks for the heads up on the CELL. I'm going to pick one up in a couple weeks. This ball looks to be a winner!
