Picked up a few NIB Mercurys for dirt cheap...what to expect?

I've never used Roto Grip equipment before, but have been contemplating it lately. I was able to pick up two NIB 16 lb. Mercurys for $70 shipped, so i figured why not. I am planning to drill one pin on axis because i need a control ball anyways, and i'm not sure how i'm gonna drill the other one. What should i expect from this ball? I've heard its very smooth and controllable.

It is a fine light oil ball.  Too much ball for dry.  It can also work well on shorter patterns with flying back ends.  The hit is above average, especially considering the price of the ball.  I still keep mine in the bag.  Here's a short clip of me using it a while ago.  It's pin above the bridge, box finish, no x-hole.  As you can see, it's pretty darn strong on the pattern they had out.

Bought mine for dry lanes, but it was way too strong for that, so I sold it to a friend of mine who took the shine off of it and is using it as his main ball.

  The mercury is surprisingly strong for a ball advertised as a drier lane ball, because that is not really what it was.

I have one long pin. the pin is 4.5 inches. That is the only way you can use it as dry ball. It is very smooth, you'll love it. I threw a 758 with a 298 on the Cheetah with mine.
