Mark - Thanks for the reply. You and I have similar pap's but i am over more.
Rev rate and tilt might be similar also. You think maybe tone down the surface a little to like 4000 abralon. Hmm. I practiced with bowl400 on the pattern and we tried to break it down and it kind of worked. I was able to stay up the track with the Cell. It was working good but when the transition happened i went to another ball pin up with a little surface and played the same spot. I was thinking of drilling a pin up Cell with a weaker layout possibly.

with my low speed and medium revs, if i could do it again knowing what i now know, i would take a cell at 1000A, mystic at 4000A, oob neptune, and spare ball.  the cell at 1000A was all i needed during the team event.  next day, take the cell back to oob (2000A) for the minors to start and move to mystic/neptune to play deep as the head oil depletes.  plenty of back end with mild ob outside of 5.  we were on the low end for team and low 30's for minors.  i would also work harder on my spare game before i went (missed an embarrassing number of easy spares).

I used the Cell for team at 1000 abralon.  I am also a low speed med revs guy and it was plenty of ball and carried well for both the Roto Grip challenge and team.  My problem certainly wasn't the balls fault.  I had a decent shot looking at 15 plus or minus a board or so, my timing was just off that weekend.  Too much travel, drinking and craps playin I guess LOL.

I used an Awesome Revs@2000 and Twisted Fury@4000 for doubles and singles.

I used my Cell at 1000, I am a higher speed med revs player.  Worked really well for me.  Mine is pin over.  Got good length, and great read on the mid-lane.

Also I saw at least one cell on just about every ball return.

On the fresh there is so much oil on the ball when it comes back that you can blow on it and watch the oil move across the ball.

I believe I read that 4 of the 5 guys on the Team All Events leading team used their Cells for all 9 games, and the 5th used his for a majority.

I'm on the team currently leading Team AE, 4 of our guys used the Cell for all 9 games (maybe less a shot here and there, but 99%) the 5th used his for about 2 or 3 games, but he used The Gamebreaker adn I believe a Shift in minors.

My Cell was 1000Ab for team and I had a great reaction, was planning on taking it to 2000Ab for minors but the lane shine led me to believe I would be fine with just cleaning it and it worked out great the 2nd day.

I was very surprised at how nice it 'rolled' out there compared to around our local houses but I'm guessing the difference in oil and pattern caused that.

What was the difference for you UW? My Cell hardly gets any use around my area because my 17.5 speed and forward roll release causes the ball to burn up early leaving little for energy at the pocket. I am guessing that the heavier volume at nationals will allow me to use it without worrying about the early burn.

I had both my Cells with me for Nationals.  Cell #1 is drilled 3-3/4" x 3-1/2" pin next to ring and I had it at 500 Abralon.  Way too much ball and surface, for me, on fresh oil for team event.  Cell #2 is drilled 5" x 3", pin is
4-9/16" above the midline, surface at 2000 Abralon.  Used Cell #2 in the fill ball of game 1 in team events, playing straight up 10 and had a good look.  Stayed with Cell #2 in game 2, making small moves throughout, ended up playing 15-10.  Switched to a polished hybrid for game 3 and was playing 18-10.  For minors, I had better luck with polished equipment than dull solids.

I only threw mine for about 6-8 games at home, all on the Shark pattern so I was able to use it, but tried it for one shot on a house condition and went into a roll WAY too quick.

I get around the ball/spin so comparing my results to yours, as you are much more behind the ball than I am, might not be ideal. But as I said, others on our team (who stay behind it way more than I do) were able to use their Cells and didn't have any issues with it rolling too early.

From what we saw, and others including Riggs have posted/said, I'm not sure you can have too much surface the first game of Team. (assuming you play out and try to burn a track in for games 2 and 3)
