Cell vs. The Break
« on: January 31, 2008, 05:15:53 AM »
I just got a Break and tried this one lower pin, 75 degrees, 500-1000 abralon and like the roll and look it gives.  I was considering this for my Nationals ball.  Now the Cell and associated hype have me wondering if I should get one.  Any comparisons to similarly drilled and surface prepped Breaks?

Thanks for any info...

Cell is stronger even at 2k, with same drills on both and my break at 1k. I have polished my cell up and i think it is still stronger than the break.

The Break at 1k is alot closer to the Bite in reaction than the Cell, but i have since changed my bite and polished it up.

I will let you know about the differences. Just punched up a Cell, have a
Break. I will be using the Cell on a similar shot this weekend. My Break is
aggressive, but I have thrown more aggresive equipment (My Odyssey will outhook
my Break). Will message you with detailed results on Monday. I could have used my Cell yesterday, but it is an extreme wet/dry league shot and I use a Pluto and a Hornet, and bump more dry.

I have 2 Breaks and a Cell.  All have different drillings and surfaces.  All 3 are tremendous.

Cell- 4.5 x 4 pin 3.5 up.  1000 wetsand
Break 1- 4 x 4.5 pin 3 up. 600 wetsand + Bean's Sauce
Break 2- 5 x 2.75 pin 1.75 up.  4000 Abralon

I threw the Cell and Break 2 side by side today.  The Cell is about 3 feet earlier with a harder arcing backend.  The Break was cleaner and made a more angular move.  This is what I have seen in the past out of these 2, even though the layouts would suggest just the opposite.  Surface prep has a lot to do with this.  Break 1 is actually a very smooth rolling ball with a strong arc on the back.  I rarely carry all 3 at the same time because they all handle approximately the same amount of oil...they just go about it in different ways.

Thanks guys... this info is perfect.  At the price point, sounds like the Cell is a good investment.
