Cell Layout Suggestions..........
« on: March 14, 2008, 03:19:08 AM »
Hello All!

I just got my Cell in the mail yesterday and i ain't too happy because the specs aren't good. I got it off ebay from a seller who wasn't helpful. This ball has a really short pin. Is it true that shorter pins actually make the ball reaction smoother and roll earlier. Please take a look at the pic and let
me know what drilling options i have.

I was thinking pin under ring or bridge with the MB kicked out 3 inches from thumb. My span is 4-5/8 both fingers. The pin is supposely 1.5 inches which i am guessing is from the CG to the top of the pin. I was thinking instead of having the cg line up on my midline i was thinking moving it up aa little but not too much so i won't have a lot of finger weight.

What do you guys think and suggest?

I'd drill it like, 4.5 pin to PAP 4.5 MB to PAP.  That should be nice and strong for ya.  But nomaddah how you drill it, you could always put an X-Hole 2 inches up on your VAL to reduce flare potential.

Appears to be on the shorter side of the pin to cg distance, but it should be fine for most "pin under fingers" types of layouts.  You should be alright with moving the pin/cg up your grip line.. this will depend on the starting top weight of the ball to some extent.  You can always just drill the finger holes a little deeper than normal if necessary and/or use a weight hole int he finger pos quadrant.

thats exactly how i got mine and i drilled it up with the 4x4 drilling he went deeper in the ring finger and a small weight hole to the right. I love it this ball it rolls early revs up hard and hits like a ton of bricks
