closest to a rs-p
« on: October 08, 2011, 12:37:11 AM »
I was wondering which new ball would be the closest as for as ball motion (strong arc and smoothness) and hook (which i know is many factors but as a general term)? I was thinking 1 of the nomads. Also, I am sure this is covered somewhere but is the nomads core same as the rs-p just flipped or is there more differences?? by way just leave all technical stuff out like pin placement, drillings, etc. Just wanting to know in general or what should fit the bill. thanks in advance

if you have to adjust the surface, you either bought the wrong ball or you can't adjust

The RS-P was a particle if im correct? If so, and you wanted to stick with the storm/rotogrip line, I would either look into the Marvel pearl or the nomad solid.

The marvel pearl will be as smooth but stronger, which can be remedied with a weaker layout. Unless you just wanted the strength. The nomad solid will offer you the same look but a tad longer. Im pretty sure if you laid it out the same as your RS-P, the differences would almost be minimal. That being said, without knowing your stats we're kind of shooting in the dark.

aka. Big Daddy Pink, Pink Pinkstofferson, Smooth as Asian Silk, Righty Complex, Big Daddy Wit Da Smooth Head.

I'm man enough to admit I stroke with the left hand and it feels good.

Whooooooo! Go time!

No excuses. Just bowl. High Score wins! Make the Adjustment!

thanks, i didnt do stats bc honestly i don't and have never known my stats. the rs-p is still working good but someday it will die and need replaced. threw it in league last night and wasn't really caring bout score or anything and was just watching the ball and amazed at how smooth but very strongarc it is. it was a beautiful thing haha. anyways thanks for replying.

I would think the Nomad Dagger would be closest in the Roto Line. That is the next ball I am looking at. I would love to see RG re-release the RSP...

We sold over 40 rs-ps when they came out and honestly right now i might look more towards an outlaw. the balls mentioned such as the marvels are too early, the rsp was very clean through the front part of the lane with just an incredible amount of flare down lane. For the down lane backend and finish i would look more into an outlaw or victory road. The outlaw will handle the same sort of oil patterns the rsp will because of the strong cover. The victory will be longer most days but have more backend.

If you had your rsp dull id look at the outlaw, if you kept it shined id look at the victory road solid. I know people will instantly say, why is he recommending two solids when the rsp was a particle pearl, but a polished solid will roll similar to a particle pearl. you get the cleanest motion through the fronts but dont get squirt through the midlane the way you might with a regular pearl. The other reason i dont mention the obvious kid on the block(critical) is its so much more angular than the rest of there line up right now. Maybe with a layout to smooth the motion out and some polish it could be a ball to look at. but if your looking at just the ball and no layout factors involved those are my two suggestions.
