If you are using a Rs-1 or Silver Streak Pearl and the ball is getting good length but is also just a little too strong on the backend and is going through the nose... would the next step down be the Ultra Sonic or would the Ultra also be a little too strong?

it would be the ultra, super , or even the boom if you wanted to step it down just a tad more.....

boom has more backend, the ultra is really clean through the heads, and the super is nice and smooth.
