Agre with above. By STRAIGHT there are different varieties. You could fire off the corner straight at the headpin no curve. You could fire STRAIGHT up the 5 board (or 10 or 15)and the the ball snap in the end. You could stand in middle and go STRAIGHT at the headpin.
For the first and last option their are a LOT cheaper balls out there for the little to no hook you throw.
If you mean straight as in the second option (straight up 5 until breakpoint). Then yes the NOMAD PEARL is AWESOME. It is actually MORE aggresive then I thought it was going to be. I ORIGINALLY bought it as a go to ball to give me more length when the LevRG Response started to drive the headpin. Playing that straight up 7 (maybe swung out to 3 from 7). What I got was a ball that forced me to move inside more and play it 15 out to ANYWHERE outside 5. Then is screams back. Its now my benchmark ball. OVER 2 balls that cost me more money Rogue Cell and LevRG Response. It plays beautifully between the 2 for me. If I need more lane the Rogue is great, if I need to go straighter the LevRG it is.
When it comes to value for your price. If you can get the Nomad at a good price grab it. I love mine more then anything I have thrown in past few years. Just be careful you might get more then you bargain for. If you just need something to move a few boards, I have also heard good things about the Brunswick Python. But can't vouch for reaction like the Nomad.
