Rogue Cell
« on: June 15, 2011, 10:13:43 PM »
Anybody out there trown a Rogue Cell?  It sounds pretty similar to the new Critical Theory coming out soon.

  • Hybrid with 4,000 abralon vs Pearl with 4,000 abralon covers.
  • Different cores of course

The Critical Theory is being touted as the sharpest breakpoint to date but the specs lead me to beleive the Rogue's 4,000 grit Hybrid cover would break just as much but a little more in the midlane.   Thoughts???

Your thinking is pretty spot on...they will have some obvious differences ofcourse...but I'm thinking this is their "rogue" of the theory line....it will be close but its going to be different...

It is going to be similar to the prodigy in terms of the "type" of cover...and the finish...I love the reaction of the prodigy...I take that ball to every "unknown" condition I face, it gives a true read and always keeps me outta trouble...and never really get an over under reaction..the critical imo is the ball from utah to buy this fall.  The cores hook shape is a bit more defined with the theory core so is should be something like an improved rogue.  I had three rogues so I am definitely excited for this release.

Even though you start off with "the numbers are similar", once you throw in the fact that BOTH the coverstocks and the core designs are different, I think you are "grasping at straws" to conclude they will be similar in reaction. You might as well throw in the "facts" that both are round and have holes as further proof that they will react similarly.

Granted there always be someone who throws them both once, and cannot or does not the difference and will think he got "screwed" again, and for some people, they may very well be similar enough not to spend the extra $30 on the newer ball. You pay your money and you take your chances.
