I don't mean to be rude or anything, but the answer seems pretty obvious. Try it at a smoother/shinier surface until you get the look you want. If it's at 1000 try it at 2000, then 4000, then maybe rough-buff or factory finish polish. I'm not sure what condition you want to use it for, but if it's like the third game of league, stay after one day and play with it til you like what you see. What somebody here likes doesn't mean jack squat for you because they have totally different releases and ball roll from you, and they are bowling on completely different conditions than you.
Just as a word of warning though, smoothing/shining a urethane ball will make the ball go longer, but it wont necessarily make it snap any harder. Urethane balls often hit the pins before getting into a full roll, so they are still skidding, and shine will make it skid more through the midlane, but also skid more at the end.
