does anyone know what high performance bowling balls roto grip will be putting out on the market in january or february?

Defiant Soul (hybrid) is looking like an early Feb release. Around the almost dying MegaBuck events is usually when the bulk of new pieces seem to be released...

From watching the guys throw out at the wsob it looks to be the best piece out of the line

Not sure if you are requesting my direct response, BUT....

I just got back from hanging and bowling in Vegas over the last 2 weeks roughly... I went from hanging on the PBA Truck, watching the Storm/Roto guys throw (the DS), and talking about it with the guys on the PBA Showcase... The Defiant Soul looked cleaner than the Lucid, but had a harder arc.

Boomershine and Vic seem to do a good job of making their "Hybrids" feel exactly like half pearl/half solids (combinations pending, lol) feel like perfect happy mediums of their pearls and solids respectively.

Rhino had his DS with a pin buffer looking like approx 2" right of his VAL, with MB also semi-inline of his VAL, and an x-hole on the VAL relatively deep. I'd imagine for him since his PAP is probably relatively close to 5"+ it makes any ball with that layout try to have get into a strong arc by motion??

He (Rhino) threw it on the stub lane (as i've stated in other threads, I happened to be sitting on the stub lane next to Spanky, GT2 and while Rash, Rhino and Parker were practicing)


The DS looked like an exact fit between both previous Defiants. Smooth by comparison to the Defiant, more pick-up by comparison to the Defiant Edge. Altogether a greater distribution of ball motion than both of its predecessors combined.

The Defiant Soul (DS) is probably more along the lines of a heavy traction/heavy oil hi perf (whereas I believe the Infinite Theory was more of an answer to the ultra early Theory). So if I had to compare this piece i'd say think 930T, Nexxus, Lucid, Nano Solid, or even a surfaced-up Aura.

Top tier staffers that happen to throw this piece threw it in what looked like the OOB finish. I hardly seen any (in the paddock included) with shine (And I'm not a huge fan of drilling hi perfs to only shine them. Surface adjustment on hi-perfs is preference of course, but when/IF I do drill hi-perfs I leave them OOB).
