Bandit vs Nomad Pearl
« on: June 25, 2012, 06:00:51 PM »
I would like to hear from some people that have both. Is there justification in owning both if drilled differently? I have a Nomad pearl on the way that I got a great deal on. Was looking at either a Bandit or Outlaw to compliment the Nomad pearl. Thank you

The nomads that I have seen have a more angular move at the breakpoint.

The Bandits a little rounder at the break.  Take a look at the core pictures and it might be understandable.

Depends on what your looking for. I'd review the core numbers and look at the correlation of each combo. You already have the nomad pearl, which is a pearl symmetrical higher rg ball (if im not mistaken). A bandit would do you little good being virtually the same ball, maybe 1-2 boards stronger. Both are symmertrical pearl and clears the heads and most of the mids.
I'd look more into the outlaw, lower rg symmetric, going to pick up earlier. Atleast it would give you a different look. Not to mention, i believe that the bandit was the replacement for the Nomad Pearl.

The two balls might be both symetric and pearl but they aren't the same animal really. From personal experience this is what i noticed:

Nomad pearl:

  • Reads early for a pearl
  • Doesn't clear the heads that well for a pearl should, but it handles carrydown better than most
  • Is one of the best pearls on a fresh light pattern, because its controlable and doesn't have a very sharp backend
Bandit

  • Very Clean through the front part of the lanes, often on a fresh medium pattern this ends up becoming too sensitive to lane changes downlane.
  • For players with higher ball speeds this ball didn't read the midlane soon enough compared to the nomad core did.
  • With your feet the bandit might have you standing farther left because of it having more backend. But its going to be that hockey stick shape.

Overall the nomad pearl to me was a marvel pearl with less guts, and the bandit is a longer flippier victory road pearl. It fits in the big picture, but when I had the marvel pearl, victory road pearl and bandit in my bag, the victory for me saw the most action.

Thank you for the replys. I ended up getting both and with different drillings they actually compliment each other rather well but I am very partial to the Nomad Pearl right now  ;)
