Berserk vs Defiant Soul

I currently have a Sync and Berserk. I was wondering if the defiant soul would close the gap between the Sync and Berserk?

+1.  It should fill the gap nicely.  As mattypizon said, make sure you use the right layout and surface and you should be in good shape.
