my Christmas present Shatter!
« on: March 17, 2013, 09:31:55 PM »
First of all, this is the best looking ball on the lanes bar none!

We threw the ball yesterday no holes both stacked(Pin next to Ring and CG straight down) and label(ie pin next to ring and cg under grip center).

We noted the stacked really flipped and read earlier!  The Shatter with the cg under palm was muchy straighter and then walked sideways in to the hole!

Today now drilled.  Pin next to ring at 4 inch pin to Pap and the CG at 5 inches, right next to the grip center.  (say 1/2 ounce sideweight).  Ball does right as described.  Straight down the 11 maybe out to the 10 and then it walks smoothly and sideways to the pocket.

Contrast to my Rising Star with the same core but drilled stacked under ring.
This Rising Star bad boy on my 35 foot wet dry shot must be looped 13 out to 9 and and whips into the pocket to deliver a big wallop.!   Annhilation if the pocket could be found as the ball is explosive.

This Shatter instead goes straight, and then walks sideways to the pocket.  Pins fall late, versus pins following the ball off the lane with the Rising Star.  I attribute the reason for this difference to the drilling which seems to fit this ball.  (Both cores being the same)

Almost had a 279 in it's second game with one non strike till the 10th today in it's game 2!

Looking froward to really getting the thumb worked out to a clean release every ball.  It could be fun!

PS I'm excited to see this ball as it develops a track which pearls usually need to do for me!

Don't quite have the thumb worked out and that may be part of it.

But this ball is getting humungous!  Typically my pearls get stronger as they track in.

Today I was throwing this ball 13 to 6 and the move was so angular and big everything was either high or when flush wanted to leave back rows.
Pin strong next to ring and cg near grip center.  To Contrast the similarly cored Rising Star is stacked to side and down from ring and I get a very strong rounded look from 14 to 9.

This drilling angle the Shatter on symmetrics  frequently gives me this type of sharp vicious wait then jump look!

Any ideas.  I was thinking light surface in effect knocking off the polish?  Your thoughts to reduce the break point jump and massive board coverage?

I would try using a little surface.  My pin up Wrecker was very strong off the dry with polish and I took it to 2000 abralon and it is much better for me.  Got rid of the over/under.  I drilled another Wrecker pin down and it works great with polish.  Pin up gives me good length with strong finish, and pin down is smoother and earlier.

What length is the lane condition?  Anything outside of 9?  Sliding, arrows, break point?  You are on the left side correct?
