BigHorhn: I have both balls and they are drilled a touch different. My Soul is pin over ring with the MB 3 inches right of thumb and my Lucid is pin over bridge with the mb right next to thumb. My Lucid is long and more angular compared to my Soul. The Soul is clean up front with a strong midlane and a continuous backend. Remember if you are building an arsenal you want to drill  a ball for a specific purpose. What do you have so far. The Disturb is a great ball too. It's defnitely long and strong on the back but not angular. What type of shape are you looking for?

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm trying to put together my tournament arsenal. I have a couple of versa max drilled different ways and a meanstreak to handle the mediums conditions. I also have a old amf terminal velocity particle ball that handles the floods. I need a ball above the versa max and meanstreak. I think I have settled on a brunswick ringer for light to dry conditions. My release is up the back I have very little tilt. I usually don't need help in the front of the lane, just need something to finish on the back end. I need that medium heavy ball and I have narrowed it down to those two. The disturbed my not be enough on the back end if I have to move in.

I have them both. My observations so far and lay outs:

Defiant Soul is pin under at a 45* angle with the mb on my VAL and wt hole in the P3 position (just under the mb)

Lucid is pin up at a 75* angle which puts the mb slightly right of my thumb and no weight hole.

Both are box finish with just Storm Reacta-Clean towels. I do need medium to high volume for both to carry there best. If the length of the pattern is medium to longer both of these are beasts with the Lucid being real nasty thru the pindeck. If the length is shorter, then the Soul sets up a little better for me probably due to the lay out.

Both have there place in an arsenal. I like hybrids that lean more toward the solid side especially duller on higher volume/longer patterns. I also like strong pearls with surface on them as it eliminates the over/under for my game.

I am thinking of drilling a Soul pin up at 75* just to see if it will compliment the pin down one. If it does, the Lucid might get a shine to stage it under the pin up Soul to ball down to when that look is the best option thru the pins.

Lucid is very good coming off the end of long patterns where you can't open up the lane.  Defiants (edge and soul) are better recovering with continuation where you can open up the lane a bit.  Since most guys are always trying to open up the lane, the Defiant Soul is going to be more popular with many people. 

Lucid fits my game better so I would take it.  But I have won senior tournaments with both a Lucid and Defiant Edge over the last two months.  The Defiants remind me a bit of the Theorys in how they roll.  Lucid is very long, but very rolly ( interesting combo ) which I like with my lower rev delivery
