epic battle done deal
« on: November 11, 2006, 09:02:58 AM »
I know you guys are gonna dog me out again, but i am really sick of this ball. I cant play it in oil or any other time. I shot on a shot today where honestly ther wasnt much of a shot for anyone, but i expected a little more than i got today. Pointing the ball to the pocket from the 3 board i couldnt get it to the pocket. Move inside and stand 25 put it down on 17 and left the 10 pin. move right washout, this thing has a mind of its own. If the shot isnt perfect for it you get nothing . if the shot changes or you get some carry down ,nothing. It must be me ,every oil ball i have tried i have hated.I would have to say that i like my passion but i dont use it ,until today ,on heavy oil ,but even it wouldnt wrinkle from the outside. At least though when i moved in it would get to the pocket. In fact it was a good 5 boards stronger than the battle. I had to stand 30 with the passion to get to the pocket. I didnt even think about moving left with the battle. I have to baby it and guide it to the pocket it just doesnt roll up. I have had 3 good games with it since august. Its either too light or to heavy for it. this ball is worse than goldilocks and i am sick of it.

I love my Battles....

I think either it was a bad drill for your game or you just do not match up to that type of ball.

sorry about that but stop whining and move on.

Its heavy oil dude, most folks aren't going to string strikes.

1) its heavy oil dude
2) the battle is low load particle
3) its heavy oil dude

Have you played with the cover to make it a heavy oiler or a med oiler?

I don't think your layout choice is the direction I would go.

Question:  How was the ball first layed out?

Don't drill it 4 1/2 x 4.  That layout would not work for your game (based on your profile).  I'd like to know how it was originally layed out before I make my permanent suggestion, but I'd like to see you go 3 1/2 pin to pap with the MB on your VAL.

Let me know.

Thanks,

That would certainly get it rolling and would allow the ball time to read the pattern.

His ball was originally drilled with the pin at 3" just above and right of the ring finger with the mass bias in a strong position
