Battle at 400 Grit
« on: November 13, 2006, 10:45:11 AM »
What would happen if i used ebonite sand blaster on my epic battle? What would the reaction be. I know that it'd be at a lower grit and it might handle a more oil than 800 but what would the reaction be?

Mine is at 400 after hitting it with an Abralon.

It moves earlier off the spot with a continuous hard arc.  However, because of the lower grit, it chews oil like it's nothing.  It'll burn up fast unless there's a lot out there.

i was thinking of pulling my battle down to 400 and getting a horizon solid, so that their surfaces aren't the same, and they don't react similar to one another.
I'm bowling in collegiate tournaments, and bowling in other cash tourneys and jus wanted to have all the bases covered.

Even if they were both at the same grit you wouldnt get the same reaction out of them unless they were drilled identical. Yet this is hard to do because of the battle be Asymetrical with the MB marked. Also even if you could the horizon solid is reactive and most reactives dont grab as early as a solid partical ball at the same grit. So you may not even have to change surface on the battle, rather just use another layout.

You better have a ton of head oil, because 400 is a lot of surface.  Otherwise you'll be rolling out or blowing a hole in the pattern quickly.  Gernerally, if you need more than 600 grit, you need another strategy, not another ball or more surface.
