Alright everyone,
I believe I got the overall message from my last post. Main points were:
1) Play with the surface
2) Use more aggressive drillings for flatter sport shots

So having stated that I have a Saga:

I know the pic sucks, sorry. It has a 3.5 to 4 inch pin and 3.03 OZ of top weight. I am open for suggestions on how to punch it up aggressively to help me combat longer flatter shots. Now I know that this is not going to match up as well as a Battle but I had this ball already so its a start. I was thinking about pin under my bridge and the MB towards my VAL. But maybe thats not aggressive enough??

Now I do have the original epic:

Which tries to make a move very early despite the pin placement. But I find that this ball revs wayyy too early and quickly and gives me minimal movement on the backends and mediocre mid lane. Roll out you say...I doubt it. I used it in the oilest of oilest houses up here and got the same thing. And I have actually played with this cover took it to 800 and even polished it, no avail.  So I was thinking that due to the strong MB in the Epic cores that maybe I should stay away from putting it in the B. position of the RG drilling instructions. Also a lot of people mention strong MB placement and I would just like to clarify if that means what RG deems as a strong placement or do you have other interpretations.

Thanks again all,
BMM

I agree with getting the mass bias near your VAL, but with that top weight and the way the mass bias is situated, you're gonna have a pretty big weight hole.  Otherwise, I think the pin under the bridge is a very good idea.  The cg will end up down and to the right letting you go with a low balance hole, giving it a very good midlane reaction.  I think it will just be a matter of getting the surface right and you'll have a winner on flatter patterns.

Thanks Kman,
I am worried about the TW also, with the pin so long the CG is going to be terribly close to my VAL due the mis alignment of the Pin, cg, mb.  I may try to see if I can trade it for a shorter pin.

You should be able to put the same or simmilar drill pattern as your epic. If you like you epic, but wish you had something that would go longer and snap harder, then punch it up the same and that is what you will get.

I noticed from your profile that you are in MD, I am in Va. Where do you bowl in a sport shot league at and are they having another this winter?

Coach Jim,
I live in Mitchellville, its near Bowie. I don't bowl in a sport shot league, I wish I did. I just bowl in York every month and I am looking to start bowling in the VMSBT tournaments regularly. I don't want the Saga to go longer I actually wanted it to start up sooner. I am going to alter the cover of course.
