horizon coverstock

Has anyone altered their horizon coverstock? I was thinking about taking mine down  to 1000 grit. Just curious to see how it performs.

After taking the Horizon out for the maiden
voyage, I did knock the shine of and it
retained the same movement just a tad
smoother when it starts doing its thang.
Scuffing a pearl ball is one of my favorite
things to do and I've had much sucess with it.
Haven't thrown it on league breakdown yet
so it is a work in progress.

Don't feel bad if you knock the polish off the ball and either leave it there or repolish it. I do that to 99% of the balls that leave my shop that are factory polished just to ensure that we can get the same reaction at a later date. BTW, my favorite Horizon coverstock condition is that with a lightly scuffed gray pad.

I have a Horizon lightly scuffed with grey and love the reaction. I would suggest that unless the heads you bowl on have a bunch of early traction you give it a try.

I decided to knock off the polish with a 1000 pad. The results were amazing. Bigger backend without the squirt.
