first night with epic battle
« on: July 29, 2006, 09:32:32 AM »
I am not ,and i repeat am not gonna bash this ball . I had it drilled 41/2 from pap with pin above bridge. What i wanted was a ball that wouldnt check up too early ,but that wouldnt skid through either, and I wanted good back end. This drill gave me exactly what i was looking for. I am using a ninja fury and hercules right now and i wanted this ball to give me the same look on heavier shots and all in all I was not jumping for joy as when i first shot other new balls ,but i wasnt dissapointed either. I had some bad breaks and should have probably shot in the 600's ,but its a learning process. I think i feel better with this ball because it didnt wow me but it is a stable performer that carries well and when rolled right finds its mark. I am gonna give it a month before i jump to conclusions, but i think its a decent ball.Shot was pretty wet I think a good volume of oil to 40 ft and tamer on the outside. I shot 202 215 and the lanes broke down and i was tired, (whaaaaaaaaaaa),first game i had 3 opens so she strikes .Third game i shot a ah nevermind the third game ,more later.

Thats not bad for a new ball that you didn't know what to expect with...give it a few more games when you are not tired to properly evaluate it.

The Epic Battle is my favorite ball followed closely by its little brother, The Epic.

When I throw my Epic Battle since its a pretty wet shot I always hold the ball cupped in my hand and almost straight down so I won't have a big backswing so therefore I'll get a lot more hand in the follow through, but thats me.

Don't forget if its not wet just put it away and throw your med-oil ball.

Stick with it my friend
Now throwing pretty much all flavors...

well its been a month and as far as the battle goes ,it really hasnt won me over yet. I like my passion for heavier shots. I love my epic for medium and i was hoping for the reaction i get from my epic out of my battle on longer shots.
What i got was an extremely hard hitting ball that unless i slow my speed way down wont turn the corner. Many flat tens. I polished it with a light coat to see if that would help ,but what it did was make it a great ball for medium shots. Thats not what i got it for. Polished ,its not as strong as my epic, but its very forgiving and the carry is awesome. Can i get that on heavier oil or am i asking too much?
I think I am gonna take it to 500 and this way i will be able to compare the passion with it on a more even playing field. In oil for me right now though i am unimpressed. If you want a great medium oil ball polish it you wont be disappointed.
