Silver Streak SE vs Epic Saga
« on: September 20, 2006, 05:00:31 AM »
Anyone throw both of these balls? I am considering a new Saga but am concerned that it will be to close to my SSSE. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Not even close. You shouldn't see any overlap at all. I guess you could say that the Saga is a SSSE on steroids. The Saga has the same great look through the heads, but the midlane and backend read is *much* more pronounced. I would say that the Saga is a good 8-10+ boards stronger (for me) than the SSSE, and it can handle a little bit more carry down to boot.

Buddy of mine just drilled one. He has the SSE and LOVES it. Needed something stronger, the Saga was reccomended.

It is easily 7 boards stronger than his SSE and hits like a tank.

Is the SSE...a lot less midlane?  But a lot of backend!

That one has intrigued me!

I've thrown both and I'd say the backends are about equal, but the Epic Saga has significanly more midlane motion.  It equates to about 2-3 boards different on the approach and 1-2 boards with the target.

Agreed with everything.  Saga is definitely much more powerful.
