Infinite Theory.....finally a true skid snap reaction
« on: February 26, 2011, 12:31:21 AM »
I drilled mine 55° x 4 x 35°....pin high, mb close to thumb....its in my photobucket link below

I have had the cell pearl, and the mutant cell pearl....both super tame...felt like I was throwing tropical storm covers with cell cores haha...but I punched up the new infinite and really truely get a great down lane motion...its what I wanted!

Anyone else notice this?

More skid/snap than any Roto ball in a while? More than the Nomad pearl? However, both pale in a skid/snap comparison with the Victory Road. IMHO, having thrown them all, not even close.

Noooooo my dagger is crazy flippy....i just have been hoping for the benefits, of the cell/theory cores with a more defined transition downlane..im glad I got it!

My infinite is drilled exactly the same as my mutant cell pearl.  For me the IF may be stronger off the dry, it rolls earlier than my MCP.

IMO the infinite is a MCP for more oil.

Shawn

In the bag

Rotogrip MCP(pin over bride, 5.5" p2p. MB 65º)
Ebonite Mission(pin under bridge,5.25" p2p, MB 70º, low weight hole) polish over OOB

Storm 2Fast(pin over ring, 4.75" p2p)
Storm Fast(pin under bridge, 5.25" p2p, low weight hole)

Coming soon
high scores??

@Billdozer:

How does your Infinite Theory compare to your Anarchy? Similar arc shape? Similar downlane reaction?

My anarchy was too snappy...I sold it..same with my dagger..

I bought the anarchy to compliment my invasions (which I love dearly) and just didn't match up well with the ball...when I was playing the right line with the ball...id leave weird stuff and never..ever carry a ten pin...I basically just was losing games, losing money...looking bad like most of the pros on t.v. do with it...over under looking with no control or carry

BUT....I absolutely can't get enough of the cell/theory equipment..that may just be me though.

The predictability keeps me in the game better than any line of any manufacturer..I'm just crazy excited cuz I finally get a pearl cell/theory "pearl" to roll like a pearl...MCP was super controllable with a bit more snap on the backend...and the Infinite allows me to to play atleast arrow deeper than the MCP..it truely reminds me of a hyroad that is not allergic to oil..and most of all its working well at my trouble house and I get to use it all three games!

Sorry got on a bit of a rant there

It is a true defined snap but what one really wants...

Length and a controlled flip not like where u look like you're trying to play the gutter and have it hook to the pocket where its really hard off the spot like my dagger and anarchy was...this is what u would expect from a hybrid..with a theory core......I don't wanna say archy but definitely inbetween...like a snappy arc! Haha

Thanks for the comments Bill. Sounds like this line of balls has really solved a lot of problems for you. I have as yet to pick up my Infinite. I kind of think that it will be a godsend to me as well as it was to you. The regular Theory has been a very consistent performer in the house I use it in. Shot my highest set this year with it, so the Infinite should be the perfect carry-over, in terms of performance for me.

The title of the post is "finally, a true skid/snap reaction", but you sold the Anarchy because it was too snappy?  The Infinite Theory might handle a little more oil, but how was the Anarchy bad while the Infinite Theory good?

Telling it like it is.

Yeah I realize I kinda contradicted myself...but when I get an angularly designed angular ball it tends to be overly angular....like for example drilling both the anarchy and dagger to simply skid flip....it gives me an over under reaction..where the ball takes off..haha

the cell and theory line do not really have that angularity...

Both of the previous pearl cells didnt really give me anything but a super tame control pearl...and finally the infinite gives me that controlled jump off the spot that the entire line was missing...

Believe me im not saying that you cant get a controlled skip flip with any other ball from any other company cuz you absolutely can...roto just hasnt released a hybrid cell like reaction like this yet...its quite nice..especially since I need a controlled late motion due to the fact that I bowl on hookin wood lanes...

I don't want to put words into his mouth, for him, but maybe he meant..... a truly controllable skid-snap reaction.

I bowled next to a PBA regional bowler on Tuesday nite, and he was throwing both the Theory and the Anarchy. The Anarchy was way more snappier and extremely angular, at the point of attack. In the end , this guy shot all nite with the Anarchy, but it was not without some serious foot adjustments. He ended up moving way inside to get the best carry. I couldn't see the layout of his pieces.

This is not an indictment on either ball...they both looked good, but I can understand where Billdozer may be coming from in terms of the Anarchy's snappiness.
