Horizon vs RS1

Could someone compare the two really looking at both need some help deciding which one would be a better fit for the light oil conditions I see during the summer and upcoming fall season.

Good point charlest!!  I forgot that I changed the surface.  I do it so often to brand new balls and it was so long ago.  You're right, out of the box I didn't get much read or hook out of it.  But then I sanded it to 800 and then repolished (and put my Saturn to the same surface). That's when the RSX came to life.  Much more hook and usuable on all kinds of mediums and heavier.  Also, the differnce between  the RSX and the Saturn became more apparent.

I too have the same problem with storms factory polish. I don't know what it is about it, but it really makes the balls push a whole lot. I've gotten to the point now where I sand the ball down and polish it back up before I even put holes in it. FYI, my RS-X's cover is currently in white scotch brite condition, and my RS-1 is polished and the RS-1 still hooks earlier and more than the RS-X.

For whatever it's worth, I found it very difficult to use a White nylon pad to have any effect on a bowling ball. I had to press so hard I stopped the spinner. At 6', 225 lbs (16 stone) ,I can put a good deal of pressure on a bowling ball. Try the next pad, a blue one, it's about 1000 grit, silicon carbide (wet/dry sandpaper) at 1200, 1500 or 2000 grit) or try an abralon 2000 grit.
