First league night with Cell
« on: June 04, 2008, 09:03:09 PM »
WOW! Why did I wait so long to get a Cell? I've got about 40 bowling balls but the Cell is in a class of it's own. Drilled it 5 x 3 with a 2 1/2 pin buffer. Put surface at 4000 abralon before first practice session. Ball was too strong even on fresh oil but I could see the potential. Put the ball at 600 sanded with Brunswick high gloss polish over the top (somebodys elses idea). Just right for a league shot. 209 the first game while playing with lines, 289 the second game. I then put the ball away as I had another new ball I was trying out. The Cell never even came close to leaving a 10 pin. The pin mix is fantastic. The ball just seems to rev up at the end no matter what type of release is used. I got home, jumped on EBay, and bought another Cell from Allstar bowling. Also picked up an Illusion, although not sure why since the Cell can be made into a medium oil ball.

Glad to hear we have another believer. Also, the Illusion will be a great ball to move to when the Cell starts to check up. You can polish a Cell until you are blue in the face but it is still too strong for burned heads.

Glad to hear you like the Cell.  I have two of them, one drilled 5 x 3, pin 4-9/16" above midline, no weighthole.  Very smooth and predictable.

I have thrown the Illusion at a demo day and really liked that one as well.  I had an opportunity to throw the Pluto at a demo day yesterday and I was very impressed.  That ball is super smooth and controllable.  If you are looking for a ball 2 steps below the Cell, take a look at the Pluto.
