Hustel line up
« on: March 24, 2019, 12:20:58 AM »
Can someone make a list of all the balls in the Hustle line up and how they compare to eachother? I see a new hustle au and 3t that just came out. I know everyone talks about how great the hustle ink is, but are any of the other hustles worth a darn?

I have the HYB and like it quite a bit. The coverstock is way stronger than that on the INK but it still works for me. It's overly early if you give it too much belly but playing straighter produces great results. The new HSB should be similar since it shares the same coverstock, color being the only difference.

The POW is supposed to be a really good dry lanes option. Not sure how good since I've never seen one thrown in-person.

The previous Hustle balls, those before the INK, were all pretty hit-or-miss from what I've seen. I would't go around looking for a NIB.

The pow is an excellent dry lanes choice, the ink is all about control, and HYB is a great midlane read...

The new ones look to be polished pearls and hybrids... probably making 3 to see if one sticks.

My money is on the gold one cuz it's gold... I'd be buying the polished hybrid black silver one honestly...

On the Hustles.

In all reality, I believe they are sort of a mixed bag.

Standout good ones I have seen are the Hustle Ink on Fresh light, the Hustle Say, and the Hustle POW on dry.

Others I have seen that I am not that impressed with are the Hustle PRO (sort of grabby and early rolling!

It is interesting to me how much better of a ball that original Matches from Storm were in relation to the the hustles. And the core looks almost the same but maybe slightly taller and with a higher RG on the Match vs the Hustles.

The Match pearl if matched properly to the pattern seems to be a winner for many styles!

The RGs on these similarly looking cores with the Hustle(being the lowest RG), original Matches(medium RG), and the Match Ups(highest RGs) seem to all have a discernibly different look on the lanes.  The Match Ups look to be hit or miss for Righties except for the Match UP Hybrid which is a big hit!  This Highest RG  of the 3 similar cores seems to have a lot of what used to be called LOPE!  Many seemed disappointed in the Match UPs especially   the Pearl and yet the Hybrid works for many in a similar spot as the Marvel Pearl but with more angularity.

Interestingly the Match Up Pearl which does very little for many righties (missing the break Point long)seems to be a big hit for lefties in the house I bowl in which seems to supply a lot of midlane due to its lack of oil past the arrows for lefties)  The extra lope the pearl has on the Desert side of the street(left).

To summarize.  There are 3 to 4 good hustles, The best is clearly the Ink for most.  So smooth and predictable.

All of the hustles however seem to have a very heavy early roll and NOT a lot of flip built in to them.  Can you say "Slurve"?

Sincerely,

Luckylefty

Nice write up Lefty.

To jump off of that, the new pearls using VTC-P18 should be interesting. They must have liked it in testing to make two versions of it already.
